Default 2300 Glow Plug

Hi Ed/Kevin

Affter more than 10 months, finally started my 2300. Did some good starts, and then started to fail. no biggie as there was some wind, but I was unable to move the turbine stand to face the wind. Anyway, I decided to check the plug and try a new one.
I tried several MC-09 and OS#8, but none of them could thread at all. I did it by hand, to make sure didn't foul the threads in the turbine.

The original one threads fine...

What brand is the original one? It also has a long post, which is good.

Thanks,
Edgar Perez

Hello Edgar,

The original plug is a Kvan (sp?) although we always use McCoy #9 to replace them when they wear out. I assure you that the threads are the same, although they can be tricky to start sometimes...

Hi Kevin,

Thanks. I will try to get some of those Kavan, as just there is no way I been able to thread those MC-09 and OS#8 by hand.

Regards,
Edgar

I cleaned up the first few threads with a tap and everything is now fine.

Thanks,
Edgar
