Default PE 14mz switch/charge Question

I have a PowerExpander 14mz. I was wondering what the switch schematic is?

I assume that you interrupt the positive & negative terminals for "off" and short them out for 'on'. I am also guessing that the signal wire does nothing. Correct?

In charging M1 (A123) cells through the PE 14mz, how many amps can I charge at without frying the PE?

As you may have guessed I am being resourceful and making my own switch & charge jacks.

Thanks for the replies....

Default RE: PE 14mz switch/charge Question

Hi,
Nope, you have it completely backwards. If the switch is unplugged the unit is on so the switch has to be an open circuit to turn the unit on. To turn the unit off the signal wire is shorted to the ground wire. You should be able to charge at 2.5A without frying anything on the PE. This limitation is mostly the connector, they are good for 2.5A-3.0A continuous. The trace from the charge port to the Deans is also not huge. I think its 25mil, 1oz copper. Let me know if you have any other questions.
