Mounting Smart-Fly units

I've seen where alot guys are putting wodden rails down to mount thier boards to because the white plastic piece on the bottom holds it off of the wood. Is this done on purpose to reduce vibration or some other reason?

RE: Mounting Smart-Fly units

Hi,
You want the unit mounted so the grommets do what they are suppose to do. This means the only point of contact on
the units should be the 4 grommets. The eyelets must be installed correctly, from the bottom, and servo screws (that
have a built-in washer) or regulator screws with a washer must be used so the eyelet/washer forms a "U" so that
the grommet is not crushed.
