Sailplane Use

I am putting together a couple large sailplanes, 5 meter, 12-15 lbs. I am thinking I need the Power System Competition 12, for the long servo lead line matching, redundant (Li-Po) power supply, fail safe switch, RF filtered singal line and will be using 13-14 channels, power regulator, etc... I won't use all theamps the Power System can serve up, but thinking it will be worth it for all the other features. Do you have any other customers using your product for large scale gliders, or is this over kill?

RE: Sailplane Use

Hi,
We have quite a few people using these in large gliders. I think the PowerSystem competition 12 would be a good choice for the size glider you are talking about. Digital servos can pull more current than you realize. If you have speed brakes or flaps they can pull quite a bit of current when extended. Let me know if you have any other questions.

RE: Sailplane Use

Very good point. My servos will all Digital and I have an 8 servo wing, inner and outer flaps, ailerons AND Spoiler/ Dive brakes, looks like a good fit. Thanks for response.
