i have a prather 225, didn't care for it. That was with a 1500 kv though. Didn't seem to have the thrust. I think alot was being wasted as lift. The m445.. gotta love it. Though the 42x55 is starting to win me over. x645 is now my fav for the geico. Mostly cause i have quite a bit of time into it.

My Geico didn't like the x642, it perferred the 42x55 much better (my fav prop). The 220 maybe the best of both worlds. Less pitch then a x642, but more diameter and less diameter then a m445, but more pitch. Maybe a homerun.

asupervee72: Your using some large props my friend. I am running a Leopard 4074 2200kv in my Pursuit with a m645 and that boat is a rocket with that prop, but I'm only good for a few passes as she heats up with that prop. In the summer I normally run the m445, less speed but more runtime and less heat. I did run the m645 with 15* timing and then I lowered the timing to 11.25 and run the m445. I think I am going to try the m645 again with the lower timing on 11.25. I ran the Pursit a few weeks ago, wanted to try some new batts I feel into and man did she open up. I am now running two 4s 5300mah 25/50c Gens Ace packs for 4s2p and those packs are freaking sick. I have very SLOWLY been phasing out all my Turnigy  packs for Gens Ace or Sky Lipos. Between car, planes and boat I have aquired a rather large supply of batts....

So, reading this and other threads I see alot of talk about the Pursuit. Is this the same Pursuit for sale at HobbyKing? If so then I suppose that HobbyKing is a reputable place to buy a quality FE boat?

Well I took mine out today for it's maiden voyage; didn't get very far. Stock prop, stock shaft (pulled it and filed down the sharp edges on the motor end and re-soldered) and 2 gens ace 2s 4000mah 25c batteries were used. I pulled the motor mount out and bent it like Grim suggested to align the coupler and stuffing tube also. First hit of the throttle and SNAP went the shaft. So off to ordering the OSE shaft. I had a 42x55 Grim prop I thought about using but glad I decided to leave the stocker on. I had a feeling this would happen LOL.

Motörhead, you talking about the MC? Thread a bit off topic so not sure, lol. Any case that is really sad quality.

Yes the Motley Crew. Honestly I'm not very surprised, almost counted on it actually. I read that they were junk and I've had past issues with Aquacrafts flex cables. Regardless, I would have obviously liked to get a few runs in before having issues.

Yep just ordered two of OSE's shafts and an extra prop. Then hopefully get a few runs in with no issues.

Got my OSE shafts in the mail yesterday so I put it together last night and finally got some runs on the pond. This thing handles like its on rails! It was fairly windy and I managed to catch air under the nose a couple times and send it flying.

also a big difference in kv there 1500 vs 2200 even though you have added can size. My x645 is like a m series, though i think i left a little more tounge area then the m series have. Also it is back cut so that may be helping the with the size. That 1500 kv PB motor can take a prop, and needs it to even have a chance at the aq 1800/2030 motors.

I think amps may have been up in the 70ish area, so not a sport runner. 645 is going to be my p ltd sprint cat prop and i may back off to the m445 for offshore. Gonna have to run a couple more eagle tree runs before i make up my mind for sure.

Nice... That 645 is one WICKED prop that's for sure! Sounds like you're working magic. I lowered the timing also to 11.25 and wanna try with my 645 with the same pursuit setup you have. It heated up with the15* timming and the m645 but man like you said what a freaking rocket! Gonna try the m645 again. I just replaced the 5.5mm with 6.0mm and direct soldered my T180 with parallel setup to lose the adaptors I was using before and I added 2 caps. I did all that last night, eager to try it out now. The caps I used are only 25V though so no 6s, but i never run 6s on those 2s-6s esc's anyway. Should run smoother. I just slapped a x447/3 cut down to 42mm with a little cup and detounged, Gonna see how she she does on that purstui.

645 past 2 min is not recommended. Temps were high after a 4 min run. 2 min is still under 130. Pretty warm out here in CA. Those in cooler climates may be able to swing the prop with less heat. 645 on a stock motley crew or the mystic with the 1800 kv would likely be too much prop. an m445 is probably max there and i would recommended back cutting.

If i get a chance i'll post some charts from the runs. Tried to keep it from getting too cluttered. Temp probe was around the motor wires where they enter the can. Actually surprised the motor made it back.

Yea i only run that m645 for about 2 minutes also as things get toasty, I tend to run it on cooler days also. We are on the same page. The m445, is the prop I use most on my Pursuit.

You guys are getting up to 60mph with the Motley Crew? Wow, that is some speed. Don't know if I dare chance that kind of speed with this hull. I am not an experienced FE boater.

Hi Guys, I am an avid Car/Truck Rc guy. I spend alot of time out at Lake Mohave on my life size speed boat and there are ALOT of big glassy coves out there. I finally broke down and bought the MC and the new Revolt 30. For the MC I ordered the 42X55 2 blade prop.

I noticed that you guys keep refering to the OSE shaft. Should I order this for both boats? If so, can you give me a part number and where to order it from?I have a week before I take them out to the lake so I figure I will make them as bullet proof as possible before I go.

THANKS!!!
