Run away! nice 600watt 28mm or 36mm motor...another lightweight in a big hull, at least its geared ...

600 watts is nothing for a 36" hull, abs or glass...

After seeing the hull everything looks fairly decent.
AM radio installed seemed odd but for $279 maybe its fair.

Nothing on the forums yet about it.

I'm addicted to rc boats. []
I tried to give them up but temptation got to me and decided to buy this boat to play with.

Looks like a decent boat
if you want one that will rock Darla, get the new Aquacraft MC
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...crew+off-shore
I would be buying this one, but I'm having a F1 Tunnel hull built for me right now..

The Aqaucraft should be rock solid right out of the box, and with their grim 42x55 prop it should be cose to 50mph

The plastic boat is thicker/tougher than expected.
Runs about 35mph but does not handle too well.
Flipped over 1st run & took in some water in about 8 minutes.

There are battery trays next to the motor which barely held these: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14995
Also they are a pain to put in/remove the batteries inside the hull. []

Todays run was much better with the prop angled to run more wet.
Also adjusted the rudder for wider turns.
Run times are about 8 minutes full throttle with these batteries:

Hey Darla! Long time no see!!! I'm addicted to rc boats too, but I'm addicted to my 2011 5.0 Mustang even more Been thinking about getting one again and was checking out this one, the AQ MC and the Traxxas Spartan. Stil not sure. It's going to take some convincing of my wife to ask for 500-1000 bucks to drop down on this hobby again. I sold everything. I have almost nothing.

Anyway, glad to see your still having fun!

Nice, the 5.0's are very sharp looking. I like how they went with the 5.0. Had to compete with the others I guess.

Chris, Darla, you folks have been around for a long time, why don't you get involved with a hot build? Maybe a hydro? I'm sure a 36" Hydro on 6s with a Neu 1521 or 1527 would be fun.

Ryan, I may just do something like that. Problem is the USAF keeps me ultra busy. Plus with school I just don't have a ton of time. I know I can build a nice one! I've done it before, but my time contraints just kill..... Also, the 5.0 is SOOOOOO sweet. I took it to the track when I hit 1000 miles (broke-in by the book) and I ran a 12.92 1/4 mile @ 112.26MPH. The Camaro guys could only get down to 13.47 @ 105. I was geeked!!!

Not trying to rob your thread Darla, but I was wondering what the heck happened to the Taxxas Spartan? Seems like I read about a few issues with over heating on 6s and than all the sudden no one has one in stock. I can't hardly find any info or threads on this boat either.

I went with a AC Motley Crew!!! I found one on eBay for 350 bucks.

Thanks guys.

Darla. Get a video of this thing up. I want to see it in action. How fast do you think it goes? You still have a radar or GPS?
