Bad solder joints = Heat?
Just wondering about something.....
My Zippy 40c 5000Mah lipos were a bit warm when I pulled them from my AC MC last time I ran, or well, everytime I ran. The packs were about 115-118 degrees. I realized afterward that the soldering zippy did on the packs was sub par and I re-did the 5.5mm bullitts. Just wondering if bad soldering can actually cause the packs to run warm.
On a side note, I figured 200amp discharge packs on a 60amp ESC and 1800kv motor would not even get warm. And yes, the bad solder connections were getting pretty HOT.
Thoughts?

RE: Bad solder joints = Heat?
The actual solder joints will get warm, as they have a high resistance, so dissipate more power (in the form of heat).
However, bad solder joints on the connectors will not cause the pack to get warm - only the actual soldering will get warm. If the pack is getting warm, it is because you are drawing a high current from it, and the packs internal resiatance is causing the heating.

Shoot, I thought so. I read somewhere that some lipos need a few cycles before they come in to their own and perform the best. Any info on this? FYI - I never had this heat problem with Enerland packs.
