Hi Dave,
I just added a brushless set up to my Wave Shark and would be willing to sell you the brushed set up I took out. I was running 2, NiMh packs 14.4 Volts with a Jeti ESC and a brushed motor. I purchased it from Offshoreelectrics as an upgrade to my Wave Shark. I was running a Prather 215 prop and it made it fly! I never GPS'd it but I know I was close to 40mph. Almost to fast when I was jumping waves. I'll take some pictures tonight if you are interested. How much are you looking to spend?
Nice job on the paint for your. Really looks cool. You WILL have to find a better way to secure the hatch. Mine kept blowing off the back end when jumping waves. You can easily get 4-5 feet of air with this set up. I ended up putting a screw in the back to secure it.

Heres a couple pics of install . Had to drill holes in hull for water lines ,the 550 version has no water cooling . Just need to get prop and add a shaft brace .

Well I got a chance to run her today and I was really happy with performance. It jumps out of water on a slight hole shot and runs pretty fast . I beleave it would beat my nitro .18 version . I used a carbon f. prop I had from off shore elect. I had on my nitro version . After about 10 -12 min I brought it in and the cooling system worked great packs and esc were just warm nothing major . And I used about 45% out of my 5200 packs.it wants to hop around now at 3/4 throttle so Im gonna fab up some trim tabs and see how that helps . I want to avoid adding weight to front if I can help it . So far Im very happy with set up . I did mount the rec. under servo tray in ballon and added a y splice to run a battery through steering servo leg.

Great to here. Ya, it's pretty amazing how much faster it is. I'm glad to hear things worked out well.
