UL-1 Superior troubleshooting questions..
Hello!
I have a UL-1 Superior that I bought off ebay. Got it home and puta Futaba R2104GF receiver in it to work with my futaba 4PL remote to power it. Got the lipos charged (WinForce 5000mAh LI-PO 30C that came with it) and put it in my jacuzzi to make sure it worked ok before I put it in the river to run. Now the problem. Plugged in the batteries to the 60A Brushless ESC that is AquaCraft factory, and got several beeps. when i gave it the gas on the trigger the beeps went to a different tone. Now with no throttle on the remote it just takes off, when I give it throttle on the remote it stops and when I put the remote in reverse it speeds up just a tad. Took it to a local hobbie shop but he was not to familer with boats so now im here! He is very familer with the remote but we cant seem to get it to work correctly so were thinking its the ESC. Is this true?
Any advice will be amazing!
Thanks and God bless,
Corey

RE: UL-1 Superior troubleshooting questions..
Sounds like you need to reverse your throttle channel. On pistol radios this is channel 2. Then you should re-calibrate and rearm your ESC. This is not specific to boats.

RE: UL-1 Superior troubleshooting questions..
Is your ESC programmable? You may have inadvertantly programmed some settings.
I would try reversing the throttle channel as suggested then google (other search engines are available!!) your ESC to see if any programming instructions are out there- some are programmed by responding to beeps with throttle movements.
Good luck

steer trim N
throttle trim R
the sub trim on the throttle has to be set fairley low on the radio so the ESC see it as throttle off
plug in lipo 1 beep
squeeze trigger 1 beep
release trigger 3 beeps ready to run

Shouldn't the throttle be pulled to full before plugging the Lipo in to calibrate or is Aquacraft kind of an oddball?
Power up TX and pull full throttle
plug in Lipo. 1 beep (or 2 beeps)
release trigger 2 (or 1) beep(s)
I don't have much experience here, but that's how Traxxas, Turnigy and Sea king ESCs calibrate to the RX....Or some variant thereof. But with those ESCs the throttle needs to be pulled before powering up ESC.

That's for pre-run arming, isn't it? It has to be done every time you run.

this thread is almost 2years old as with that question.... LOL
but yeah the answer was given on how to arm the UL-1 speedo 2 years ago
and its to arm it not calibrate the esc

lets not post videos on non AQ speed controls and confuse anyone with this speed control
he is showing to calibrate a non AQ speed control not arm a AQ speed control...
