The traxxas motors are overpriced. You can save a lot of money and get better equipment. I'm not a fan of the traxxas brand motors, I have taken them apart and for there price I was unsatisfied to say the least.

* That boat may not handle the increased speed all that well, I'm not sure. It was designed for brushed power entry level boat so the performance increase may cause some other issues. I wouldn't get crazy with it. If you go with the Traxxas 3500 only run it on 2s NOT 3s, stuff will get smokey for sure on 3s rpm's to high.

At 26" I would go with a 4s setup, but a 3s setup "could" work. There's more options with a 4s setup then there is with a 3s setup.

Esc for either (amazing esc's!) http://www.hobbypartz.com/se12b.html

3s:

3s or 4s

4s

* There are MANYmotor choices that can and willwork, Ijust wouldn't dump to much moneyinthat boat. It's an entry level boat and you can pump the speed up a little, but it's just not made for high speed.

No that wouldn't be a good setup for this hull. It is a good setup in general, but for a much bigger hull example I run that size motor (different kv and larger esc) in a 33" mono... For this hull, way WAY to much power. Would make the hull very very unstable. JMHO....
