Prado lake would be closer but I don't know of any clubs that run there myself.

Google NAMBA District 19, you will find some clubs that run in El Monte, Legg Lake. Also Google Hansen Dam Violators, not really a club but a group that gets together on Saturdays at Hansen Dam in the San Fernando Valley.
