RTR outboards ?
brand new here --sorry for the rookie question or if this has been covered already ---
one of my hobbies is making custom wooden boat models --i use simple battery operated clip- to- the- transom
motors for power --my boats range from 12" up to 24"
asking --any such good thing as an RTR RC outboard for the transom -
the perfect controls would be for steering . forward . reverse and variable speeds -
but - even just remote steering control would be much more fun --than chasing my fleet around the pool
thanks

aquacraft makes a pretty scale looking out board motor. 550 brushed motor , water cooled ,push up to a 31 inch hull , aluminum lower end , full bearings , simple bolt on , pretty fast for brushed , reverse and proportional speed depends on your esc. they are built to last. just an idea. you can check out some vids on you tube im sure

You have to be very careful with reverse, most outboards use a flex shaft that is wound for forwards motion, reverse could possibly cause it to unwind a bit and bind.

Hi benjoe
I have two these Hobbyking F1 outboards.
Firstly no spare flex cable with these and run a silicon tube from the centre outlet to oil the flex shaft.
Reverse ONLY use 25% on reverse flex shafts DO NOT LIKE heaps of it!!!
I reprogrammed my 60A car with reverse to 25%, (good for removing seaweed).
Servo I used a 9.45KG thrust which strong and gives very good steering.
The motor is 3000kv on 3S 2650mah very fast on a 24" boat (straight line mine sits on the prop).
I tested on 4S, TOTALLY INSANE (the motor stayed in one piece, so, I back tracked to 3S to save the motor).
Upgrade motor 2836-3700kv power 700watts ESC 35A 3-4S battery.
All the bits for Hobbyking!!
They have a CNC Aluminium Outboard (MERCURY LOOK A LIKE) it a bit smaller with a smaller motor.
Maybe OK for the 12" boats.
