Default Electrics for old Multiboat nitro conversion

Hi guys, I have a few Multiboat hulls i'd like to convert to electric, one is 88cm, very solid. im converting it to a rear surface drive and after some ideas for hardware / electrics.

it used to be run on a 45 nitro engine and the other is about 110cm and was running a 67 engine

ive never used brushless before, but i was thinking something around 3000 - 3500w ? (just directly comparing output from a 45 engine)

Cheers!

Default RE: Electrics for old Multiboat nitro conversion

I would suggest a 6S voltage setup for that hull. It will approximate a hot .45 nitro motor is chosen correctly. My suggestions:

Motor: 40mm x ~84mm, Kv 1300-1500
ESC: 8S capable, 180 amp minimum continuous
Packs: 6S2P, 5000mAh, 35C minimum discharge rate
Prop: m445 to x648 depending on cell quality, speed/run time mix, etc.
Hull: IT HAS TO BE WATERPROOF! Water and electronics do not mix.

There are other ways to build it, but this will work. BTW, higher quality/price parts means higher speeds, longer run time and greater reliability. Cheap parts may mean buying parts twice and the frustration of burned/broken components. Just a thought.....

yeah I made a flange around the open area so I can put some rubber and a cover on.

Hardware im thinking - http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...=ros-spdrs-001

4092 Leopard do the trick? http://www.leopardhobby.com/proviewe...=1&gid=69&pt=3

its a heavy hull, thick fibreglass. quite a bit heavier than a modern boat

Thanks for the info,
