Bro******** - Custom Electric radio controlled Surfer.
Howzit Guys !...... a warm South African Greeting !...
I have linked my http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-b...om-boards.html thread into this rc Boat Speed Electric Index as I believe that there are many of you who would enjoy viewing what we ********s do - how we do it -and -perhaps even get to build your very own ******** and enjoy this awesome sport.
WARNING: rcSurfing can be addictive with no known cure...
The above linked thread shares just about every thing you would need to know... in much detail... which is documented as I build each board .. There is more than enough info to get you started with your very own custom ******** build......and I am only a post or a PM away....... should you need further help.
This is a video to demonstrate just what these ******** dudes are capable of....

Howzit Mick !.....glad you are enjoying the Bro********..
Being totally 'hand made' - custom built -one by one - just like an actual surfboard - then creating the housing to fit all the custom made hardware - is a very skilled and time consuming process - as can be seen on my forum : http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-b...l#post11589662 aimed to help/encourage others to build a Bro******** themselves.
A custom built Bro******** "ready to surf" - excluding the radio and batteries- including shipping globally by air - sells for USD 970
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=98QbEUUiYfY
Without any of the electrics - including shipping - USD 700 - You would need a 3650/2500 kv range motor - 120A water cooled ESC - all metal greared servo...plus radio and batteries.
There are various 'mass production type boards' that used to be made by companies like Kyhoso and NQD ( no longer) that are sold mostly on e-bay - these boards may cost less - BUT - do need some serious upgrades and modifications to function satisfactorily in the surf.
Another great video filmed by my wife Lisa-Marie - Has to love me to be out in any weather conditions to capture the action...LOL

Had a few sweet session over the weekend - Lisa-Marie has been studying 'flat out' - but - I managed to drag her out for some fresh air Sunday evening to capture a few Bro moments in the surf. Surfed a pack at Fishoek and Cemetery - making the best of the surf is always a good thing ! ...

. the Aluminium Bi-Fin sure has proven to me what a hammering it can take. I reckon most other materials used for a Bi-Fin like plastic / perspex or glass fiber (even carbon) would likely break on impact, when hitting a chunk of kelp. We've been talking about the amount of kelp I have to deal with in most all my surf sessions...as on the reefs....the kelp is every where in the surf. as seen in the video above - and - look at the amount washed up on the beach at Muizenberg.....in this video....Its great to surf with the confidence that the components will hold up....
