Steerix STRX-9 Electric Mini Vee

Has anyone had a Steerix STRX-9 Electric Mini Vee? It runs on a 6v 260NiMH battery. Would a 2S lipo really hurt the electronics in this boat. The Seerix battery cost $10 each but a 2S lipo could be half that cost. The motor is a 180 class.
