Default Dolphin II prop

I just bought a Kyosho dolphin II outboard for my deep vee hull and am running the prop submerged. The instructions say to run a smaller prop. What exactly does this mean? A smaller diameter or samller pitch or both? Do I need to run a different prop than the stock one and if i do, what size diameter and pitch would work best? Thanks.

Run the prop 1/2 out of the water, raise the motor till just the lower 1/2 of the prop is in the water, this will free up the load on the hull & motor,,, If you have the original red plastic 42mm prop, it really is pretty good, a comparable metal or carbon fiber prop to start with, would be an Octura X442, or Graupner K42, these will have less flex for more speed & power.

Thanks for the information and i would love to run a surface prop but i have no more room on the transom to mount it any higher so i am forced to run a submerged prop. So do i need a smaller prop?

If your outboard has M4 thread, buy some Graupner props from the K-serie, starting at 30 mm and work your way up.
I don't know what motor powers the outboard, my guess is a 550 motor, I've run a 34,5 on that motor submerged. Watercool the motor!

Greetings, Jan.
