I see you boaters staying with the 26. The gentleman with the novak and a 431 prop, may i suggest a modded 632 ( Octura ). I tried cf props after they trimmed the edge of pond and it tore up the props pretty bad, so went back to a metal 632 but didn't mod it much, bar cut was it. The plastic props like the 534 flex to much so i cut them down to 532 and 531 cause prop gets thicker the closer to hub i got and performed better to with a 1.5 pitch. Oh yes, price is better too. The 26 must be something special cause alot of money is being poured just to get 30 mph. Now it would be better to buy a better boat and less money in the long run for upgrades. The gentleman using the Novak and a 431 eliminated torque roll by going to a smaller prop and a smaller thrust cone. This thread is one of the best.

hey guys, i was looking at the villain, but it is about 240$ and it looks nice and all but i think i rather spend 140 and the rest on upgrades. 240 for just a boat is a bit much.
I think Im turning towards a SW 26 now..

I installed a 19t Team Orion (element spec mod) motor, and a 3cell lipo.. result was 19.7mph on yellow gps... on stock drive and prop.

[

heres a pic of my 10 turn powered shock wave 26 sold it 3 years ago  but found it at the same hobby shop for sale again! bought her back but shes been gutted of all the goods (gtx and 10 turn) now shes got at 19t motor and water proof proboat esc

she went really fast with the 10t but after about 5 high speed passes melted the enbell off the motor  and melted the battery plugs

i would not recommend putting a 10t in the older version of the shockwave the motor will torque twist the hull way to much and it rides like total crap

more pics of mods comin soon

also have newer shockwave 26 with same 19t motor and runs good needs to be re proped tho

great forum!

Nice, is that two different boats?
Whats up with the cooling fan? Isn't that just another way for water to get in?

yeah there 2 diff boats the orange one is the older version and the white one is the newer proboat

i have had hardly any water get in through there the fan blows the air out of the boat so it kinda blows the water away to, but ive driven it in pretty big waves and have had it nose dive under water and hardly any water got  in so its not really that big of a hazzard i check to see if the boat has gotten water in like ever 5 min if im running it in the choppy stuff but if its smooth i dont check it
