I just ordered a couple days ago.

Got a feiago 9xl, a water jacket and some gold plugs.

This is gonna be my second order. I had the last one shipped air mail registered. Got here about 1 week after my paypal payment cleared.

No problems here. Seems like they ALWAYS have lipo's on back order....and most of the time the feiago XL motors are on back order....But it's worth the wait IMO for the price.

I ordered a Feigao 540/7L and some other bits and pieces (all in stock). Paid by Paypal with tracked shipping and the package arrived in 3 days to Australia

I emailed a few questions to support and received informative replies within 24 hours.

This is not a plug.................... just my experience

In order to better illustrate my experience I'm posting complete communication with Unitedhobbies support. And there is no response until now. Is there someone to tell me what to do with this? Wheelnut say that they care about big orders, well mine is $230. Is this small or big?

I hope you understand how much I'm angry.

Dear Janice,

I vent to my bank today and got paper witch confirms my payment was
transfered 19 June 2007. to Hextronik Limited. See attachment.

This situation becomes little unpleasant for me. We have lost 9 days, I
do not know why. I need to make trip at 21. July, if you send me my
order now it have a chance, 2-3 weak, to come before that. If it comes
after, it will be probably returned back as I will stay away more than 5
days.

I know you have plenty orders waiting, but please understand my problem!
This is my first order from UH, and it is large, and you have all items
in stock now.

Best regards,
Zoran

Just about all of my orders with them have been under $100, some under $50, and I have never had a problem. Have you tried there online live support thing where you comunicate directly with someone from UH, instead of e-mailing back and forth, because there e-mail support sucks, I have used there live support a bunch of times from asking to when an iteam will be in stock, to questions about my order, or cancelling one of my orders due to backorder iteams, you just need to find what time it is in china verses where you live so you know when to check there site to see if someone from UH is online with the live support.

I'll be posting and letting you guys know. I purchased on the 4th. My payment has to clear the banks and such. Last time, it took about 7 days total for the payment to clear and for the item to ship. It was about another 7 and I got a note from the post man saying the registered package was waiting for me at the post office.

Also, maybe some of you order things on back order and expect them quicker than UH can get them? I have not tried to back order anything yet.

Everywhere I read where someone has gotten some of those lipo's they love them.

Plus they are a great deal. I know I am gonna order some someday.

And the deans.....wow. they are so cheap huh. Can't beat it.

I too couldn't resist trying these guys out, their prices are so low it makes me think it might be an exercise in futility but worth it to prove once and for all (to me anyway) if LiPo's need to cost what they do. Until now I have been buying only name brand LiPo's, I started out with ThunderPower and now only buy FightPower. If you look at my LiPo inventory I probably have close to $4,500 sitting around and I would certainly like to pay 1/3 the price if I can. I have a large amoung of FlightPower EVO 20C packs (all 6S) and the idea of losing a plane isn't as bad as the $350 per pack that goes with it (I have planes that use 2 packs in series so $700 in lost LiPo's isn't something I like at all), if I can get performance and cycles out of these packs for 1/3 the price, I'll be a beleiver. I ordered 2 x 4100 6S packs (back-ordered by -32, might be a long wait) and will be planning on running some numbers, the only issue I have now is converting the balancing lead to work with my TP/FP balancers.

BTW, I paid via AmEx so let's see how that goes...

Well, I had my first questionable experience with United Hobbies not 30 seconds after placing my order. When you go through the order process, at one point you get to the payment method, totally setup for PayPal (they even detect that you have a PayPal account) with only a small "cancel PayPal..." text in the bottom right. At this point your not sure if they only use PayPal and this will cancel the current order or what. Clicking on it does take you to a credit card entry screen, great except that not 30 seconds after I placed my order using AmEx, I get a confirmation from PayPal that my transaction has been completed, whoa! I do not use PayPal anymore, I did not select PayPal as my Payment option and instead supplied a valid AmEx number (which they took), am I being double billed?

So far customer support hasn't gotten back to me yet, I hope this is nothing but what I assume it to be, some weird PayPal arrangement that they have setup to process credit cards so they don't have to do it from China. The bad part in all this is that the dumb payment wording they use is confusing and certainly getting a payment confirmation not from them but directly from PayPal after NOT selecting it isn't too reassuring either. It's bad enough I am providing a credit card number to someone in China, the absolute worste country in the world for software theft, pair that up with this odd payment technique and I'll be nervous until someone gets back to me and tell me what the scoop is. If I don't hear back within 24 hours I'll just cancel and call AmEx and have them to simply withold any payment...

Still unsure at this point,

Jack

I would never pay using a credit card to a company outside of north america. The company also must be well known and use a safe and secure form of payment. Otherwise I do not trust it.

What exactly would you use? Bank account and routing numbers, hell no. Personal check, not on your life, the number of hands that the check goes through plus you are just right back to account and routing numbers. Money order, sure but who wants to wait for that to happen. PayPal? Funny poeple think this is secure, somehow having them have all my credit card information doesn't make me feel any more secure, now all someone needs to do is hack one place, PayPal. Seems a credit card, especially AmEx with world-wide representation and a serious fraud policy is one of the best options (IMO). Who would you rather have on your side, PayPal (an e-company) or AmEx, a worldwide banking and investment firm?

I have never ordered from a company outside of Canada or the US. I'm quite familiar with the waiting period when using money orders and they have always worked well for me.

There shouldn't be any time to wait for MO's to clear. I use those from the USPS and you know that you don't want to mess with the government! I'd be worried about any company trying to tell you that they are waiting for any legitimate MO to clear.

If I hear one serious complaint about a company, I will not buy from there. It is not worth the risk for me to become a statistic. There are too many sellers for this sort of stuff and saving a few dollars is not worth the risk either.
I trust Steve from offshore and Mike from cheapbatterypacks and so far thats about it.

Well It's 6 weeks now since I ordered my Feigao 8xl Motor from United Hobbies and three weeks since they sent me the wrong motor. They still have not sent me the correct motor.
They are also refusing to pay the postage costs that I had to pay to send the incorrect motor back to them.
They are basicly claiming that if the cost isnt assosiated with Paypal they dont have to refund it.

I have raised a claim with Paypals resolution centre but Im pretty sure that Paypal will be useless. Guess Im going to be out of pocket $16.00 on this one.

All I can suggest is if you need any cheap RC gear dont buy from United Hobbies its simply not worth the risk. I have delt with many companies in the past and United Hobbies is by far the most 2 faced. They will promise you a full refund over the phone. Than refuse any such refund via email, not once but 4 times!

BUYER BEWARE UNITED HOBBIES!!
