Default Micro Iceberg

Just wanted to share some pics of my new iceberg. modified hatch on this one too

setup will be
feigao 380 8S
H-wing 60A esc
2s2p 2000mah lipos
graupner 26mm prop
Dr psycho rudder and 1.5mm wiredrive

I have a plexiglass window for the hatch but its not perfect so I'll redo it. Whats the easiest way to shape plexiglass? I used a heatgun and tried to push it against inside of the hatch but
it was really hard to get it right.
it will also have 3mm LEDs as lanterns and if I can find some stainless tube then it will have exhaust dummies.

the last pic is of another iceberg with the same hardware as mine will have

what ive done to shape plexi in the past was to heat using a heat gun an form it around different rounded pieces to get the desired bend, try a wine bottle a can of soup or a bottle of beer for a tighter bend.
lookin good there keep us updated on the progress

shape a pice of wood that fits in the hatch. Then heat and bend over that.

well...I had the windshield done..but then i forgot i put it in my pocket so I sat down on it and broke it
found a thin piece of clear plastic and cut out a new windshield with a pair of sissors just have to glue it in when the hull is painted. it was much thinner too so it will save some weight:P

yes..that wont be a problem. Its the same as I(and a few others) have run in fokis and moglis(micro v hulls that are around 17") and they went pretty good.
this setup should puch the boat to 30mph on 7.4v...
overal weights will be around 650g

I see. As I used feigao 540S in my rigger ~700g weight, and I think 380xl would have been better.. but it is ok goes more than 30mp/h though

could you post the weight of everything in your setup? I'm a bit curious how you got the weight down to 700g...

650g is just a guess cuz I dont have the hardware or lipos yet..
motor: 134g
esc: 60g
lipos: 2x 65g
reciever: 10g
servo: 9g
thats 343g...so 300g left for hull and hardware

Sorry to hijack your thread joccee, but Fiend, do you think a feigao 540l or a 380 xl would be my best bet on 7.4v in the Predator??

joccee
don't really remember now, maybe a bit heawyer as I don't have precise scales.. but my hardvare is quite light (not too strong though [:@] ) the hull too.

morespeed I'm not an expert, but for a small boat like my rigger It appeared to me quite difficult to squeez that big motor and all the wiring. I think to that size 380xl would be better, but than you must use higher voltage 4s1p for example..
(admins maybe you could cut and paste this conversation to my thread?)

I have a 380 16s and a pulso 40a esc in my mini-v right now but it's to much for the hull on 3s. I was thinking a micro mogli would be a descent prospect but I like the looks of this. Would my set-up be enough for one of these? I see your running a 8s but if I propped up enough would mine work? It's like 2500kv. How long is this hull, where do you find them?

lcplwan - we got some snow here last night so I dont know if I'll test run it soon or if I'll wait til its a bit warmer...

NitroNuisance - it should work pretty good. how many mah is your lipo?
start out with a x427 or x430 and see how it goes.
the hull is from mhzusa.com and is 44cm

How is the hardware on that MHZ stuff? I've never been on there before, they are very reasonabley priced. You have the micro mogli right? Have you ever ran it with a Gecko? How do those 2 boats compare? I think they would be good candidates for my system. The 3s I have now is 1650mah but I can allways get a different one. I'm gonna look some more at that site.

Are those motors and speed controls they offer with like the gecko brushed or brushless?

I have no experince with mhz hardware, i think its a bit pricey.
I have the mini mogli, but i've had a boat that was very similar to the micro mogli and your motor and esc should work well in both the micro mogli and the gecko.

the motors are brushed I think
