Default Will super v 27 motot turm 45mm x 45mm prop

I am thinking of using 3 Super v 27 motors 49.99 each and ond Baracuda 125 brushless esc in my 48" dumas pt boat with 9 cells,
I want to use the 1.75"x 2" pitch 3 blade Dumas props. this translates to 45mm prop with a 50mm pitch. will this work on 9 cells, thanks, Randy.

you want to run 3 motors off 1 esc or 3 motors and 3 esc's? if so there are far better options for you, the china 120amp esc and 8xl motor on 9 cells would swing them props no problem, and cheaper! with the cash saved you could buy a lot of lipos to stay running for a very long time! check out unitedhobbies.com

Sounds like a hull that is set up for 3 motors.

Easily. I use a CF48 (48x67) as my standard SV prop and have even run a CF51 (51x71) with no problems.

It'll be so nice when the large brushless motors come down in price! I still want an affordable ($500 or less) RTR 36-48" cat, vee, or hydro that's brushless and doesn't take a million worth of LiPos to run!

a CF and metal prop are night and day difference. my suggestion was for 3 8xl's, 3 hextronic 120's, and a bag full of lipos, would be fast to. 2400watts vs 1500

Well, your wording was a tad bit unclear in your post (a CF and metal prop and night and day difference), but, on the whole, I agreed with you; they do make a night and day difference. That said, the SV motors will still swing either easily, in that size. I have both metal and CF in a multitide of sizes, and prefer CF because I believe that less rotational mass offsets the miniscule amount of potential blade flex over a metal prop of whatever your favorite composition may be. I know that most on these boards (especially the true racers) would disagree with my conclusion, but the beauty is, all can use and do what works best for them, in their pparticular situation, with their specific hardware.

The esc for the super v is rated at 45 amps, using 3 motors that would be 135 amps, I want to use a barracuda 125 on 9 or maby 10 cells, the super v of course runs 12 cells, esc and motors would run $330 and no water cooling or extra holes in hull for esc cooling, I was planing on one hole for one tube runing threw the 3 motors. The sv of course runs one cooling tube for the esc and motor combined, does all this look ok and does any one know of an after market esc cooling case that works better for the sv motors, thanks, Randy.

Three brushless motors must have seperate escs, that is the first time I have heard that, but then again, thats the first time I every asked that questian, you might have saved me some money, thanks.

Also I know I read it clearly, are the super v stock motors really that powerfull turning 48mm and 51mm props. Do they get real hot or do you have to cut down on the cells.

I run a CF 48 some times. I don't have any metal props that big. Motor stays pretty cool but my coolant system is all modded. Biggest prob with this prop is keeping the batts from getting too hot. My only solution is shorter runs.

Hans, I run a CF48 full time on a SV27 (Stock motor and ESC, but with a full can aluminum water jacket on the motor) and temps aren't anything out of the ordinary. I ran the same thing back when I had the stock silicone water jack, and the motor would be just slightly warm, no big deal. I have high drain batteries, and they don't seem to be any warmer with a CF48 than with the stock prop. It takes some prop modding to run a CF51 on the SV. The shaft of the prop itself (not the boat's drive shaft) is too long to allow the nut to be threaded onto the shaft, so you have to use a Dremel or something of that nature to grind some length off of the front and rear of the prop shaft (don't know the official term) to give yourself some clearance, just make sure that you don't grind off too much of the forward end, the end that connects with the drive dog on the boat's drive shaft, or you'll either have nothing to drive the prop, or so little that it will snap under the strain. A CF48 is about the largest that I'd recommend with doing any prop grinding or mods, and a CF45 is probably a better idea all around. The SV will haul with a CF48, it really performs well. And for the record, I run 7 cell packs (no battery pack on the receiver, you may want to run a pack in your situation...opinions differ on that) on my SV with the CF48 prop. I have a set of 6 cell intellect packs, but that is my "I have nothing else charged and still want to run, so I'll use these" set that I run last for the day.
