PROBOAT's new boat
I'm a big fan of the Villain hull: deep vee, scale appearance. And for those that buy a villain because of those qualities, I think will be quite interested with this, with its brushless power and already with a single drive (no need for conversions) and fiberglass hull. I know it catches my eye.

RE: PROBOAT's new boat
After looking at a few pics i think i see the boat has a flat ride pad on the back, the only reason for this is a flaw in the hull elsewhere, not to surprising, id wait to see some vids first.

yeah man !!!
Just taking a look through the photos and i see the hardware, notice the angle of the shot
you can't see the drive.
by the looks of it with some careful analysis ( LOL) the strut is no adjustable. i think.

RE: PROBOAT's new boat
Or we could go buy one for $300 or less that's ready to put in the water and go. Building boats is fun, but actually getting to run them is FAR more enjoyable. If you're not impressed, then don't buy it, but there's no point in slamming those who'd enjoy having and running one. There's nothing in the board's rules that states you *have* to state your dissenting opinion every time that you don't like something...Taylor's right, don't be so sucky.
I'll definitely get one to add to the collection.
Has anyone heard anything about any upcoming boats from Aquacraft?

LOL . . i meant "don't be so sucky" as a joke not to be have taken seriously.
and i disagree with two of your comments. Building is the most fun of rc boats, running it is just a added bonus
and I do believe that we should comment on this thread because i have the right to voice my opinion and so does every one else. and we are informing future customers of the kind of quality pro boat actually has
As for AQ. .. i know what there next FE boat is. . .

RE: PROBOAT's new boat
My stance still stands, Im 90% sure the boat has a hull flaw, Taylor will confirm this, Most all V's built with a flat ride pad were done that way because they couldn't be made to turn or ride true in the water, its a poor mans way of fixing a insufficient hull. The good news here is the nice flat bottom, if the ride pad is long enough, it would make a decent jet boat.

More info here as opposed to the Horizon link above:

This says it has an adjustable strut.

RE: PROBOAT's new boat
I've riden in a 1:1 Cole that had a flat ride pad at the back. We toped 110 MPH. Road in it on and off all day and never noticed any poor ride quality. Of course you don't turn a 1:1 the way you'd turn an RC boat.
My input - that looks like a fun boat. My compete with the SV. Looks like Proboat may have finally figured out that no one likes their steerable drives. That's no grim racer hardware tho. Looks pretty rough compared to the SV. Like the waterjacket.

SV27. How do you know it was a flat ride pad? There are alot of boats that are a full V hull with a flat notch at the back to get the hull aird out. the boat does not ride on this but from looking at it from the stern it appears to be a flat ride pad
boat with a flat ride pad will not handle properly. as for taking turn like you RC's. get in a real performance boat and put it though its paces. You can! and i have done it.

RE: PROBOAT's new boat
What i was saying is boat builders use that flat pad to correct a improper hull design, there are a lot of ways to ruin a hull, and only a few ways to make one right.

Good Catch BB.. I did not see that when I first open the pics.. That is why they are not running it hard in the corners and why its so fast on the straights.
Hum…. I love the reverse cant mounted turn fin…. That kills me every time I see that on there boats..
It is a hydro by all accounts or a flat bottom mono if that makes any since. A deep V it is not….

RE: PROBOAT's new boat
For the same $$ I'll stick with my SV. The only features I like better are the metal cooling jacket, and ironicly the electronics box. At least it's transparent tuperware instead of black tuperware, I've never used one but I'm sure the locking mechanism can't be any worse then the cheap tabs on the SV radio box. I actually cut a big square in the lid of my SV radio box and epoxied a plexiglass pane in it so you can see the flames when the esc starts smokin.
