RE: MISS VEGAS BRUSHLESS CONVERSION?
Hey TTH I have another question for ya. What type of lipos should I get for the aqua craft esc? Does the esc wiring connect them in series or is that something you modify. Thanks for any info. I'm totally new to the lipo thing.

THE SV ESC DOES CONNECT THE PACKS IN A SERIES BUT I LIKE TO MODIFY MINE TO A SINGLE TERMINAL SO I CAN ALSO RUN MY PACKS IN PARALLEL OR SERIES. ITS ALL IN WHAT YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE.

TTH - I also made an adapter for my SV. I cut the original power wires coming out of the radio box, soldered a deans plug on it. Then I fabricated 2 adapters, one for series and one for parallel pack configuration. It also made it easier to cut power as you only pull apart one deans connector instead fo the original two.
By the way, how far away are you from Baton Rouge? Have relatives there.

RE: MISS VEGAS BRUSHLESS CONVERSION?
Guys, I have just gutted the Vegas. All that's left is the wood blocks. I've been trying to cut them loose on the sides using a cutter but having a hard time. Do they have resin on the bottom as well? Should I bring out the hammer/chisel or the dremel? I wanted to go easy on her but it seems the wood blocks are glued in well.

Convertion update: Almost finished with the work after much procastination. I have a m435/3 mounted on the balancer. May I know what other props works for you guys. I will be using a Feigao 08XL on 4S and eventually to 6S if the need for speed arises. Pics in a week when I finish up - hopefully!

hedach - Last minute changes .. . just got a DX3S so I need to reconfigure the rx and telemetry. Also plan to have the shaft converted to 3/16 instead of 1/8" so that I can interchange props with my SV. But I will try the original shaft first just so I can maiden it and get a benchmark from the stock prop / speeds.
I will try to finish the reconfiguration this week so I can test on the weekend . . . hopefully!

Good luck. I had a 8xl and 442 prop with 18 volts it had gone 53 mph but smoked the battery a couple times. The motor pulls alot of amps so be carefull.I now use a NEU 1521 1.5d motor and 22 volts with a M545 prop and shes reliable and fast!!!!!

I have a Watts Up meter so I can monitor how she's holding up. Wish I had a GPS . . . []
So what speeds do you get now with the Neu motor?

Buy your GPS on Ebay. I paid 79.99 for a new garmin 101 unit and its very small usenig only two aaa batteries. My vegas will go consistent 60 mph but as soon as the waters turn to liquid around here i am shooting for 65mph.

There is no specific one. Use a mount that you will be able to adapt to the hull.

RE: MISS VEGAS BRUSHLESS CONVERSION?
I think the SV motor mount sits too high for my liking as it is designed for V-shaped hulls (notice the V design?) What you want is a flat bottom motor mount face as the MV is flat bottom. I used one from ETTI RC (Hkg). They're designed for the 36mm dia motors (same as the SV's). You can get them from Chris over at Fine Design RC. Then again, if you are handy with tools and want to save a few bucks, you can make your own.
