Miss Elam Upcoming Modifications
Ok, so I cant wait to buy the new Miss Elam brushless,
But Iv been thinking of a few things I want to replace, like the crappy
Strut they have used for years. Question is, whats a good strut setup
for this boat? Here's the FDM 8-16 cells complete Hardware kit (purple) yay!
Will this FDM strut work well on the Elam Hull?
Also, Im tryin to decide on motor esc and blah blah blah,
Either an 8xl Fei. motor with HydraHV120 and x2 11.1v 25c 3700mah lipo's,
or
13xl Fei. motor with HydraHV120 and x1 37v Flight power Lipo....3000mah-5000mah cant decide, whats the
3 best props for these setups??? Thanks!!

RE: Miss Elam Upcoming Modifications
I would recommend trying a Speedmaster .21 hydro rudder and a nice Solinger Strut from OSE. What you have shown is fine but I have seen this setup break many times on friends' boats.
If you hit a stick or something with the rudder it will pull the screws out of the transom or bend to hell if bolted on. A break-away rudder is always better.
The FDM strut is a little weak for that power level, again I have seen friends in our club snap them and then you loose the prop and destroy your driveline at worst cases.
If it was only doing 25-30mph, I would say fine but, even then it is not very durable. It was designed almost 10 years ago when power levels were 1/2 of what they are now.
