Supervee Bouncing Bad
My supervee is bouncing bad even on flat water. I can't hold the boat at 3/4 without chine walking. Should I put the tabs in the water and where should the drive be, negative, positive, or 0 degree's of angle? Maybe a bigger prop? If so what one?

If it's really bad you'll want to move the tabs. You can start by making sure the drive is neutral. Move the bats up as far as they will go. Then the tabs. The prop can effect it too. The stock prop and the X440/3 is really stable.

So you think the drive is the best bet, right now it's at a negative angle, I'll try one thing at a time, first the drive, then the tabs, and last the battery's. Not looking for a race boat, just all around fun to drive boat.

Move your packs - FIRST. Move them forward until the boat balances at about 8 to 8.5 inches from the transom (back end). Then set your strut to zero angle, straight level with the keel line.
Then run it and see how it goes.
The stock battery position makes the boat tail heavy (balances too far aft) which leads to blow overs, chine walk, all kinds of nasty handling.
Also, take a look at the AquaCraft website for tuning tips:

RE: Supervee Bouncing Bad
I'd personally balance the boat 1st as silent av8r said, also making sure the strut and trim tabs are parallel to the keel line (0 degree) then adjust the trim tabs down as necessary to balance out the ride of the boat. Having the trim tabs about 2 - 3mm above the hull of the boat also helps reduce drag. Also check that the rudder is kicked as far forward as possible, loosen all the nuts & bolts & push the bottom of the rudder as far forward as it will go, then tighten up all the bolts. This should sort out most of your issues.
if you are running an aftermarket prop, make sure it is balanced & sharpened as well.

Until the CG is set correctly you are pretty much wasting your time trying to make other set up adjustments. The proper CG is critical to how a boat runs. It is the main thing around which all other set up adjustments take place.

Alright, I'm going to set the boat up at neutral on everything then start making one adjustment at a time, like you do with any rc model. I think the rudder might be kicked out a little, the tabs are up a little, so it looks like a bunch of little problems making a big problem. Thanks for the help.

Like was said..CG balance first then tweak other parts like trim tabs and rudder placement based on running observations. My 2s 4300 lipo packs are pretty far forward just to get the CG right .

The center of gravity is good, that's why I'm tuning other stuff now. I'm running Team Orion NIMH 3300 mAh packs. I get average runtime and faster than my stepdad's fastech running on Integrity 4200's.

I run GP 3300 in mine that are well past there peak (spent a few year using them racing offroad buggies before putting them inthe boat) & they're still competitive against guys running new match pack 4200s. I think 3300 are the best NiNH sub C cells.

I keep harping on this point because I see so many boats running badly due to a poor CG. Most guys don't seem to grasp how important it is.

Should be closer to 8 1/2"-9". You'd be surprised how much difference moving your cg forward will make running, particularly if there's a little chop on the water.

It balances just about 7 1/2 to 8 inches from the back of the boat.
It balances just about 7 1/2 to 8 inches from the back of the boat.
That would be between 28% and 30%. 30% is as far back as I ever run an SV27 and usually I am closer to 33% (8.9 in) to sometimes 35% (9.45 in ). As noted by Ghost, a forward CG makes a world of difference. You are still too far back in my mind. Try it forward a bit more and see how it feels.

if it is not to much to ask can someone that knows about good battery placement take a pic of the batterys in there boat before they run it?
Thanks

RE: Supervee Bouncing Bad
It's really easier to just move them around and balance the boat like they said. Some packs may not weigh the same. I use the stand that came with the boat and hang the boat out until it wants to rock out of the stand. when it starts to pivot, measure from the stand to the transom. You could evan mark the hull with a grease pen and set it in the stand and move the batts around until it tips.

Alright, I'll move the battery's foward just a little bit. I have them in the space cut out for them but my battery's must weigh more than others.

RE: Supervee Bouncing Bad
A "little bit" may not be enough.Even NIMH cells need to be at least 1 1/2" forward of the battery trays and lighter lipos need to be as far forward as possible....whatever it takes to get the cg correct .You'll need to remove the front battery tray piece so the packs can sit down on the velcro,,
heck.lemme take a pic of my boat with the lipos in a spot that's cg'd at about 28%..

RE: Supervee Bouncing Bad
That's what I was thinking of doing, cutting out the front of the stock battery tray and putting velcro farther up, maybe putting another peice of balsa or the old one back up farther. Basically make my own tray. But it sounds like my CG is off.
