sweet collection peter
i only have 2 boats now the vs1 and mean machine.
decided would try and keep to just 2 boats and slowly make them better as $$$ allow.
future plans for the MM are a neu 1415 1y
once the vs1 is sorted i would like a decent esc maybe a etti 150 not sure on motor upgrade yet will see how scorpion goes.

Neu 1415 1Y is 36mm can and ideally made for 1/8th cars due to sealed ends. But again, saying this, that motor is soooooo efficient man o man. I run it in 1/8 Kysoho GP20 car with 15/51 gear, 5s 30c 5000Mah Rhino.
If u only plan 4s, get a 1518/1.5D/K from Gilly at FE. Same monstrous 2200kv power, 45mm can I think.
Just my thoughts.

its fairly much the same size as a fiegao and that has sealed ends, cant go bigger with out redoing motor mount as i mounted every thing originally to suit the old hatch, new hatch only just fits over motor.the 8xl i run is a 2079kv so a 1415 1y 2200kv should give it a little more with out any extra amp draw plus have more torque, i can get 45-50 mph now depending on prop used.
a mate of mine runs one in a 1/8 serpent he converted, he runs 6s its totaly insane,he still runs the 2 speed and on its lowest gearing is still good for over 140 klmh.exceleration is unbelievable.
still trying to find a safe spot to open it up with a bit higher gearing and some timing advance.

here is a pic of my 1/8 serpent converted to brushless, ran 6s. sold mine to help fund boat project (vs1)
forgot to add the 1415 is a EDF motor hence the 36mm also makes it a good size as a lot of 540 size motors are 36mm or close and the cooling jackets fit
there is a company in melbourne selling motors cant think of the name but the can is from neu i believe and then some one does the rest. about $150 delivered
for a 2200kv 36mm by about 72mm long can 4 pole motor, my mate has one in another serpent trying it out,he is looking to try it in a boat as well

edf/car whatever, they are beasts of motors. EDF's are banned from discussion in this forum Scott, see first page.
Why u use 2 speed in elec car? No need what so ever?
Neu 1415/1Y in OZ is $230'ish and the 1518 about a 100 more, give or take 20. Anything cheaper, I would seriously question its Neu'ness. I'm not talking CC/Neu, but Neu.

The 'Y' will respond to timing advance.

I have 1/8th onroads but cannot fit 6s just looking at it?
We r off topic. Show me these 6s powered vehichles thru pm or rcgroups or here in cars maybe.
Mine is on Rc monster forum, because it is a monster.

that looks like a fun little project, love doing silly things with rc gear.
Bob and I didn't want any degree of seriousness with F/E today. We went out to test the ebay wingrush with dolphin with much laughter.
Wingy being a mono, I had no idea how to set it up. This should give you great laughter mate, this vid.

Bob & I were laughing. Thought you might enjoy the first run of our 'half time' boat.
J.C - this is Sydney park, see yacht potential!

The wingrush battle wagon from ebay is in the factory tonight, being tweaked. I hope the volume was up during vid to hear the jockularity.
Everything in the boat cost nothing. From the great 'box' of crap every boater has. We will get her running sweet, have no fear.
We are using Victory esc & old brushed motor. No brushless as our plan was to build s**t ebay crap boat.
Shame, as victory esc was so much $ in its day!

When the ice/snow thaws for our northern friends, I shall recommence my tunnel seriousness'ness. But until then, we are having a ball doing this.

Peter

Remember our discussions with Neu 1415/1Y motor?
This is test vid 1 of that donk in 3.5kg of 4wd iron. Car - sorry!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0y1xxL0W34

Here is same 1415/1Y, with 50% punch control. Honest. The car will burnout at 2/3 throttle.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPJGKgTASWA

The motor is a monster & I would love to see some nut put it in a tunnel?

Love the vid of the batboat Those hulls are great for rough water and just cut through them. I can hear Bobo laughing in the vid and his laugh is just contagious.

The park should be a good place for yatch sailing. The water look so calm. A bit of wind and some patience and you should have hours of fun........

I also recognise the place where you run your car, Tempe, yeah? I used to run my car there also. But not much anymore lately because of other commitments[&o]. I've met some cool people there......

Anyway will be selling all my rc stuff except the boats. Love the boats because they are fairy low maintenance with less parts to replace and easy to clean.....

Keep us posted.

Cheers

JC

Hey Peter! I don't know if I qualify for a nut [sm=bananahead.gif], but if you provide the motor I'll build a tunnel around it! [sm=lol.gif]

Gday norbique,
Nah, it's just from spending a third of my life dedicated to model tunnel boats, nitro & f/e. I think that's nuts.

You said once you stayed up till 2am building your tunnel. I did that. You could be jnr tunnel nut of Europe mate? It is a complement, in case of any confusion for anyone my friend.
I think I am nearing the end though of f/e. I love building like you, but have been introduced to the simple yacht. This may pass. Of course you can have the 1415. Isn't it special mate!

Now JC (off topic)- Bob & I went to Hobbico today, in town on the train too.[:@] We were both too mute to drive. Thought of calling you, but we took 2 hrs in there & went early. We wanted figures for our tunnels, sorry, yachts. We were very seriously searching for a proper 1/25 scale size crew for the yacht.
This is the motely crew I came home with? Bob was a bit more serious, but you know me!

Pete

Scott, I used Feast Watson marine clear from Whitworths on the wood of Dumas tunnel over stickers. Little tin, but very expensive. Really nice man & yes permanent, always retains gloss look etc. It can be thinned for your so very sick VS1.

The chickie will be cleaning up animal crap from the deck of my tunnel, sorry yacht. She has a broom mate. Chimps will be controlling the helm, I think. Pirate nut at rear, ostrich being pursued by dog and park ranger. Sitting bloke will have beer in hand.

Wait till these sailing types get a load of me. They are probably very serious and I will have a chimp steering the 1m class.

I wanted nude barb & barb on the deck of Bobs Wingrush, sunbaking on beach towels.
Scotty, first r/c I owned as a kid was a sub with a tethered cord from the r/c to the sub. Dove, went forward, turned, all from 2 buttons in the old mans pool at the time. We thought it was bloody marvellous.

Ended up shootin' it when I was allowed guns as a stupid pimpily faced kid. [:@][&:] I will always regret that.

All me mate. I'll go away for awhile and leave you new tunnel fans.

I'll be in jet boats for a bit, then yacht. Should be funny.

I'll come in here now and again when it picks up with the north.

Am I in the wrong forum? You guys are talking dolls now....

Ozzie

Very nice VS1. The wood part looks nice and make it feels a million dollar.... Wanted to get one while ago but the shipping to Australia is a killer at Towerhobbies....

Pete

Did you see the yacht at Hobbico? Its near the counter on the upper floor...... It does look very similar to yours.... When I got mine I spent a lot of time in the toys section of Kmart, BigW and Myer for scale figures..... Finally got some Pirates of the Caribean figures. However they are still too small. Couple of weeks ago I've seen some Scoobidoo figures that would look nice on the sailboats. Love your crew, especially the chimps...... Be careful they might want to climb on the mast

Look fwd to see pic of teh sailboat with the crew....
