pooch692000 & our northern mates:

What's happenning boys? Still snow and frozen water? Any more f/e tunnels pics?
I'll have a little chat with the almighty tonight to try and clear this anti tunnel ice water.

Unfortunately, Bob is in yacht mode, got me into yacht mode and me mate JC is very busy.

I mounted the lipo MiniZ F1 tunnel on the yacht with auto deploy system.

I went to purchase some thin ply for my revamped f/e TS2 radio box and it was $43. Scoff, laughter. Still looking.

I have nothing else to report.

All the best tunnel nutters.

Peter

Hey Peter. Was in Florida for a week and a half. Left in a blizzard and came home to warmer weather than florida!!! 60 degrees F today, but pretty windy. Got my recovery vehicle ready (kayak) and hope to test run later in week if weather cooperates. she's ready to rock. Got my 25c/5000 mah batts ready to charge and all is set. Going to try and recruit a buddy to come with me to take a vid. There are not may freshwater places near me though There seems to be a perfect one 5 minutes away, but not sure about regs. Guess we'll leave the beers home for first run . The few others that are near me, I am not sure if they allow these fast boats on them. Nobody around now until summer so will ask for forgiveness rather than permission and give it a whirl.

Scott mate, that is bloody beautiful. Really well done. I am 'hanging' for you to drive this.
Wish I had VS1 as I would feel complete then. If you cark it before me, can you possibly leave it to me in your will? I will put a clause in mine for you to pick out a tunnel from my marina?

Hi Chip,
Good news about your weather! I am laughing for you as not only do you have a tunnel, but a recovery kayak! Best of both worlds. Try and take a buddy, always useful for filming/motivation/to reassure you/get your boat and also some one to blame and someone to drive

If I find a fresh waterway, I'll suss it out for a bit. Run the boat and respect the people that use the area. I never want to upset anyone, but again, I won't put up with the wretches that think they own it. I ran a f/e tunnel during a bass fishing comp and no one spewed. They dropped lines and watched and near all of them wanted to see what it was! Another time a fella was watching us for 5 minutes with a big german shepard dog. This was with Bob and JC at our meet. We thought he was going to abuse us but he simply wanted a chat.
I love beer. Sometimes I have a few, other times I simply take too much r/c and cannot fit beer? I advise kiddies not to drink and tunnel, but I'm an oldish coot.
Do try and find the fresh. Go for a day trip with friends/family and big lunch and make a day out of it? Tunnel and yacht and kayak and report back with pics of vehicles and the country side.
I didn't make a 'Phantom' sailing boat thread as there is one going already on rcgroups.

Take care

Peter

Gday Ryan,

Autumn, I think is the best time of year here. Usually, temps drop a bit and the humidity drops. You can still swim, sea water temp on most of the NSW coast is 24c.

It is the humidity that kills us, sometimes 90%, any time of year now.

The fellas in Darwin, when or if it ever gets below 30c, they complain it is cold. So funny.

Ozzie

That's a nice VS1. Great paint job. Looks very professional. Love the contrast between the wood and the painted cowl. What kind of equipment are you using for the paint?

Can't wait to see a video of that great tunnel.

Pete

One 'bad' thing with the hobby is that we always want more are not fully satisfied for long. Its so addictive and great fun

Can't wait to sort a few things out and spend time with my boats.....

Have a good one.

Cheers

JC

thanks jc
i have a spray booth and have custom colours made up
okay now the reall truth, i use spray cans and paint in the carport [sm=71_71.gif]
they old spray bombs dont do a bad job just have to pick spraying time up here with the heat and humidity
doing clear coat is a rite pain in the ass, it goes cloudy with the humidity

Mate you are a Master of the Can. I would not have guess it was can if you did not tell me. What brand of can is it?

I did a couple of jobs with cans a while back, primer, paint and clear coat. It turn out ok but not nice as yours. Well done mate.

nothing wrong with that paint job JC.
i think it called powerplus, about $10 a can from supercheap, came out really nice even before i clear coated it.
i am very pleased with the finish of the canopy, being it came the factory painted white i just sanded it with 800 wet & dry to remove any blemishes and give the new paint some thing to stick to
3 coats of colour and 3 clear coats and it was done

Humorous Tunnel Rats,
Further to my discussion about mindless boats being built. Re: Post #468 & #482.

I am doing this whilst getting all 4 tunnies running at once, for once.

Homeless people and bums like Bob & my mates, just drop off boats at my shed and tell me to make them fast - for a $1.

You know we are talking Bob's OUTBOARD BRUSHED Wingrush. We did test part 2 yesterday @ Sydney Park again. It went better, but still needs shed work. I will not bore you with vid again, thank crikey.

Test 3 of this most st@p*d boat will involve what is in the pics.

We use the fishing rod and small sinker for this one as the ducks are extremely violent in this pond boys. Peck ya eye out?

Tunnels will not be forumed till they are 'hooooooooning'.

Peter

peter i see a major concern with that mono, they alloy servo arm is way to shiny for that hull,it could cause horrific effects to the boat, ducks and humans
if you send it to me i will put it in my vs1 and save you all the terrible things that it could cause, no need to thank me just looking out for my tunnel nut mates

Morning,
Computin' early today so we can test the Wingy before the wind starts blowing a gale. Scott, that servo arm is Bobs bling. Everything about our mono is a major concern, lol.

Re: the flex arms. My Lawless and KB drive use these shortened jobbies of approx 90mm. The REK and the OS use the 120mm shaft like your one. I just wanted to know about the bullet, so thanks again.
The bloke that modded the lawless, mods the flex shaft too, to save me the hassle.

Sounds like your getting closer to running?

JC, OZ,
Here are some shots of the Wingy outboard that has no reason going this speed.

Bob demanded I get them online.

Peter

PS - Silly mono thinks it's a tunnel. Great fun.

Waoh this thing is flying!!! The wings must be for something

Is that a nitro outboard? The scale look is fantastic......

I've always love the bat boat since I saw one at Hobbyco. It was the Aquacraft V24 gas boat, probably the first gas boat I saw......

Has it got trimtabs? This thing would be very stable with a bit of tuning and maybe move the CoG forward..... This hull design is great for rough waters because the hull does not jump the waves but cuts through them.

What's up with the sailboat? Got it wet already? Would be fun to race each other since you have the same boat......

Cheers

JC
