Yep, 2.3mm drive shaft and motor shaft. But it is a sloppy fit with stock connector that came with mine (larger hole). You can see the connector movement whem it runs slowly, and it vibrates badly when up to speed (that's why I have some foam under my motor - to calm things down). If you were to drill and tap 2 more holes in the other side (opposite existing screws) you could get that wobble out. But I'd rather get a proper connector than to go through that (to small to fool with).

OK, I know it's been too long in coming, but (finally) here are some movies of my knockoff as taken a couple months ago. This was after I modded the intake, added a 2080KV Turnigy (20x40) brushless motor, a 35A Seaking ESC, water cooling, and a 3s 2800MA Lipo. Fun on the river. Some of the 'motor' sound is the vibration of the off-center motor coupler.

I've since installed a 3800KV 396W motor (and bobble heads on the figures) to try out. I'll be sure to post results - should be interesting! I've got to replace that coupler first.

I've got the same problem. The 7.2 stick pack is just too heavy. I am reluctant to get into lipos because i really don't understand them yet. I tied two 7.2 packs but that was way way too heavy. Has anyone ever tried using AA size batteries?

RE: Unofficial "NQD" Tear into Jetboat Thread
Dragon is right, those are heavy, underpowered batteries. You need to switch to Lipo's. Personally I think 3s (11.1v) is better than 2s (7.4v) because it's easier on the motor and more efficient, not to mention faster (with the same motor). If you get a good quality balancing charger then you needn't worry about lipo's any more than nicads or nimh. Just follow the instructions, and you won't have any problems.

if you just dont wont to make the switch yet . no prob . youll need to run a smaller pack more along the lines of a 1/18 scale like this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXTYW5&P=SM if you run two i beleve youll come in just under the wight of one standerd pack and youll can have up to 14.4v if your setup can handel the volts

RE: Unofficial "NQD" Tear into Jetboat Thread
I've been trying some brushless motors in the knock off and thought I would post some pics and results. I did try the 2700kv motor first (purple one). It worked, but was slower than anticipated. I then tried an emp 3200kv on 9.9v and it was a whole new boat. I am finally liking how this boat runs.

its a totaly diffrent hull the cracker is flat which it slids around easyer but it hopes like crazy no speed b/c the drive losses prime . where the jet sprint is a shallow v . but very wide and short witch make for a better jet drive hull

RE: Unofficial "NQD" Tear into Jetboat Thread
dang i have a nitro hammer got from friend and i have not got it wet ye he only broke it in. and i love the jet drive idea but the crackerbox seems to hoppy and driftiy to be a lot of fun. im also looking for a cheap cheap rc boat for a retrival system im coming up with where the cheap boat pulls fhishing line from shore to the dead boat goes around it then your use a fishing reel to reel in both boats it wont strain the boats motor at all.any suggestions on how to make that jet drive work. im tempted to get it and make my own boat hull out of plexiglass i and lexan. im also tempted to install a brushless jet drive into my kyosho blizzard and use 2 small boat huls like reefracers fill them with insolation foam and use them as pontoons for floats only thing is i dont want to cut up my rare blissard too much

dude buy the ebay ndq fake jet sprint, it is literly the cheapest best way to jet boat, just swap motor n servo n batt with something from 2000's! Any other hulls are completely hit or miss. I've gone through 5 differnt hulls for jet drives, none have worked the way I wanted them too without modding the hell out of them. Heck im lookin for yet another hull for my 28mm kehrer... keep thinking yet another jet villain but i want the hull 4 in shorter than a villain.

I agree with headhunter. I also just shot some of video of my knockoff but won't be able to post it until tomorrow. These pics are of the intake that I modified by opening up & then used a piece of exploded metal for grating. This boat rocks now.
