I took the receiver box that came in the boat, after it was removed completely from the hull, and cut it to the same shape as the servo mount. Then glued it in with hot glue. When I was done both sides looked exactly the same.
You can kinda see it here....

RE: Unofficial
Went to the creek today with mine, it was really flowing with the rain we have had earlier this week. 2 cells was fun, 3 cells was a blast, 4 cells was ballistic for about3 minutes! Then the motor had a meltdown! LOL!! When I opened the boat up the motor was still sizzling and boiling the water in the cooling lines!!That was with a 25amp seaking, with a 60 you should never have a problem RJ.

Switching 2 wires on a brushless ESC changes the rotation of the motor, I was sucking water in instead of blowing it out. And even though I have 2 batteries in the picture, it is still 7.4v. I have been using a single 4000mah 2s pack lately, it has much longer runtime.

G'day folks,
been lurking here for a while now.... hell 86 pages take a bit to get through.
anyway, got the boat, ripped out the gear, replaced servo, motor, and ESC
Motor is water jacketted 2040 4800KV with Watercooled 40A ESC and I tried a 2200mAH 20C 3S Lipo
All was great for first 10 mins, then POP
I limped back to shore and lifted the lid thinking the worst, maybe ESC or Motor, but instead I found a
verry puffed up battery........ BUGGER
I am open to suggestion here guys... new to Lipo's here was it just not enough C's ?
Cheers, Neil

Well. I'd say your Kv is way too high on a 3 cell! Because any higher then 3000 with a 3 cell it just churns water not really doing anything wasting energy!
I'd say 20c isn't enough, best get a nano tech with a high discharge for that kind of setup.

That should work great!

That's slightly bigger and has a higher discharge, you could get it to stay on the safe side but I think the other is fine.

On the other hand.... 2.2Ah x 20C - 10% = 40Amp, that's what the lipo should be able to give continuously. Having a look at a similar motor shows it's able to pull about 25A.
It shouldn't be able to puff the lipo unless there's something wrong.Or?

Hqdby1 is right on the money. 3S is too much for the 4800kv motor, and 20C is a marginal battery. It would have done fine if it were 2S. The 25A rating is very conservative as it will draw higher than that with higher voltages. Get a 2S lipo (nanotech is excellent) at the highest 'C' rating you can afford, and things will be fine. You should have also noticed that the speed stopped increasing well before the motor reached top end.
