Next person who gets a Tear into can they shoot a stock vid running in a straight line to check the speed...
I have seen the Vids on youtube but everyone seems to turn too quickly to test straight line speed..

Depending on the weather, I should be able to post a completely stock video early next week. How far do you want the straight run?

aumsdh,
Great shot. You have inspired me now. I can get a boat like yours off ebay but waiting on Graupner to help me out with a mini jet drive.
I love your launch ramp too.

try the zhobby link posted above.

no need to buy a graupner minijet unless your nqd one goes out, they are basically the exact same aside from shaft size

Is the stock jet in NQD ebay boat as good as the graupner mini jet? Can I run brushless without failure? Reasonable setups, I am not a newbie, but new to jets.
I am not sure, as it is so cheap and reminds of the Wingrush boat type. Cheap ebay type v's the graupner jet boat? Can't find a graupner boat either?

Damn the popularity of jet boats.

yes the stock drive can handle the brushless power . i had a 28mm 3550kv on mine at one time on 3s , way to much motor but it didnt self implode either . the graupner jet sprint is no longer made some times you can get lucky and find a kit for sell on the bay or crigeslist .

Hi guys, I found your thread here after doing a search for rc jet boats as myself and a few mates are looking at getting into the boating side of RC. Been reading it as a guest over the past week or so and found it to be very informative indeed. What an awesome little platform for modification this boat is!

So anyway, as we live in a coastal area, what's the go with running these in salt water? Is it a no-no? I'm inclined to think that flushing them with hot freshwater afterwards should be fine (hot water neutralises the salt). Also taking into consideration that we'll likely be using water-cooled motor/speedy combos.

Cheers guys!

Justin.

I know that there are some who run their boats in salt water but I think you want to water & corrosion proof everything. Here's a link to waterproofing [link]http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/info.php#Waterproofing_Tips_&_Info_[/link] Ask if you have more questions.

If they are still using hot glue, just carefully pry/pull it off - try not to warp the hull doing it.
