Ryan, The 4800kv with the water jacket is your ticket. Already has cooling, and 4800kv should scoot with either a 2s Lipo (best) or a 6c and up NIMH (heavy). I once tried a similar high rpm 2040 with ribs for cooling that didn't produce enough torque, but that could have been due to a number of things. I'm supposing that the esc you chose will handle it as well. Git 'er done!! [sm=cool.gif]

Should bolt right on. Drill your cooling line holes in the transom so they are opposite the motor screws, and use those holes to access the motor with a screwdriver. Makes things easier when swapping motors.

Anyone using the Turnigy Marine 35A ESC? Is it programmable via radio or requires the programming card. And if so which programming card are you guys using? Thanks

That is exactly correct, it is smoother on the inside and has a little more diameter.

How's it going bud? What are you doing in the boat threads??

my 2 friends and i are all using it.

comes from the factory with low voltage "cutoff" (cuts to half or 1/4 power) and we havent had any problems with it.

you need a programmer card to program it though

haha - mine isnt running atm, i'm trying to fix a leak in the transom/something area around the jet drive. my other friends run amazing, we all have walkera 3200kv motors from ebay (2040 size), the turnigy marine esc (35a) and 3s 20c 3000mah lipo's from turnigy also. they are fast but he's been running a 2s recently because he doesnt like how hot his motor is after he gets done running it (no water flowing through).

the esc is good though, the waterblock was the reason we bought them and they work very well for the price and everything

3000 is pushing it for weight, 4000 would be far too heavy, even in a 2s battery

I am still out of boating for now, but who knows, someday?

Yes I'm stll flying, Don't remember the last time we talked but here are my latest two planes. (MS Composite Unuque 3D and Banana Hobby AT-6 converted to lipo/brushless/ very fast).

Hope all you boating guys are doing well. I miss it sometimes I miss it. I'm just too busy with other things. Just picked up two Stampede's for my son and I to bash around. They are water proof and alot of fun. Working on snow spikes right now
