RE: Unofficial
I almost finished painting one of the boats. I have to get a fine tip paintbrush to finish the windshield. Some of the black paint leak through the tape. Project Mayhem is our paintball team and the other logo's are our sponsors. I still have a couple things to do then give it a clear coat. Still waiting for the rest of the parts. My son changed his mind and went with Rampage and Bonner.

Just a short vid of a new Tear Into with a 22mm Abc Hobby drive installed. Maiden voyage and no speed passes but overall I think I like this version.

RE: Unofficial
Just painted up my new boat:
The motor I ordered for 2S testing showed up today, the 4800kV watercooled one from HK with the 2.3mm shaft. Should put out about 38,000rpm on 2S, hopefully it works!

Looks good, great job on the paint. I think we have the same motor. Some of my parts showed up today. The Motor,ESC ,radio. Does anybody have a schematic on how to wire it up. There is one in with the ESC but my motor leads and the ESC leads are different colors. I will have to get different connectors for them because they don't match either.

RE: Unofficial
Hi all,
Great paint jobs. I read most of the thread awhile back and have a few packs through my boat now. Unfortunately, I sucked up a rock and broke the impeller.
I know NQD does not offer replacement impellers. I also understand that a 19mm graupner impeller will work with some modifications (drill jet housing for 3mm shaft).
Does anyone know of a source to purchase the 19mm graupner impeller and shaft? Preferably in the US?
A link would be very helpful. Thanks.
Also, I have heard of people modifying boat props to work as impellers....curious to see if anyone has done this with a 3 blade prop?
THanks,
Hankinator

Here's a link to [link=http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/graupner_jet.html]Cornwall Model Boats[/link] in England. I have ordered from many times and never had a problem. Shipping is very reasonable as well. These look to be in stock as well. I would also suggest installing a 3mmX10mm bearing. These will fit where the rubber seal is.
I believe that someone has done it with a 3 blade prop either dragonfire or headhunter. I don't remember what the outcome was. Hope this was helpful.

Just stick em together any old way, and if it goes the wrong way, swap two of them.
My ESC didn't have connectors, so I snipped the ends off the motor cables and went for the solder / heatshrink option.

Well I put the 4800kV motor in and it seem lethargic on 2S, so I threw the 3S in....Snap! Back to having the crazy punch I was used to having. Hopefully this motor can handle the load.

Yeah he's a little guy compared to the 2600 I had in there that lasted all of 2 runs....[:@]
I'm running two of those little 3S packs in parallel now, turning the current limiter on my ESC way down and it should be fun times! Hopefully this motor lasts longer.

aahhhhh, i have that motor on order and i was hoping to run 2s on it. How sluggish are we talking? I don't need crazy speed, but would like to have a little kick for getting up rapids.

I'll see what I can do, I thought the same thing when I tried it on 2S (just in the bathtub real quick) and it didn't seem to have much snap. Could be my 2S, it's a fullymax cheapo and I haven't had much luck with them except in scale crawlers. Only a 20C/40C burst.
If I could find the right adapter I would rather run the 2600kV 28mm motor I had in it before! I don't think this 4800 will last very long on 3S either, but the snap is sooooo much fun.

I would like to see a video too. I order the same set up and that bums me out to hear that. I order (3) 2s batteries and (1) 3s battery. Does anybody have any good tips for the water pick up for the watercooling.? I know I have to drill into the stator. What do you guys use brass pipe? I will post some more pictures soon.

Would [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Racing-28mm-Brushless-Motor-Plate-Axial-AX10-Scorpion-/160375925167?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25572669af]this[/link] work? I use these on the ABC Jet Ski's when upgrading to a 28mm motor.

It bolts right up to the stock mount, I just need to have an adapter for the shaft or convert my NQD pump to the graupner impeller and shaft.
BTW, I ran the boat on 2S and 3S last night (couldn't get a video, the wife didn't want to come lol) but the 2S isn't bad at all now that I have two of them paralleled and fully charged. Ran for about 10 minutes, motor was cold and so was my ESC. Just have to fix a little water leak in the transom. I'll still try to get a video and I'm in the process of finishing my other boat, I'll most likely convert it to the graupner shaft with the 2600kV motor up there.
Definitely a lot of testing and trial and error with these boats but I think both my setups will work! 1 for 2S and 1 for 3S!
For the water pickup I used a small threaded grease fitting. But I would go here for anything to need for watercooling: http://www.kintecracing.com/Water_Cooling_BQFJ.html
They have all the fittings, pickups, lines and waterjackets you would need!

RE: Unofficial
Thanks sundogz, those are exactly what I have been looking for! I bought some 2.3-2.3 couplers from that same seller with the intention of drilling one side out, we'll see how it turns out.
I'll try to get a video of my white boat with the 4800 2S in it this weekend, once the coupler shows up I'll get the other boat running on the 2600 3S setup. I have a feeling both should work great, but I'm leaning more towards the 2600 3S with the bigger 28mm motor.

RE: Unofficial
Well this blows. My impeller shattered today and my boat took a 20 minute trip down the river until I could get it back. Just ordered some graupner impellers from CMB in the UK and I'm going to be doing the shaft mod and then I have couplers that will fit my 2600kV motor.
Sucky part is I have to pull the impeller out of the other boat to have fun this weekend now.

Oh damn that does suck, I hate that moment when the pitch gets higher and you start looking at your escape route. I always plan ahead but typically play on some fairly low rivers/creeks.
Glad you got it, 20 mins! wowsa.
