Default 45" Kyosho Jetstream 1000 Electric Conversion

Howdy,
I need some help. I have a 45" Kyosho Jetstream 1000. Kind of a cheap boat but I love the length. It originally had a nitro engine in it. I wanted to convert it to electric. I already have done that. It has a 700 size brushed motor but i want more speed. What do you all think of this engine and esc.

What else do I need to make this craft hum on the water. I have all the hardware What lipos should I use. I am not looking to spend a kings ransom on this stuff either.
Any direction would be awesome.
Thanks

Yep that motor will work, but I'd go a Sentilon100A esc over the one you mentioned. KB45 motors with Sentilon is a setup that works. The esc you listed will only handle up to 2-3 lipo. Hobbycity have specials on batteries at times. I reckon 5 or 6s lipo will see you humming along.
Read the sticky too about elec setups, prop size etc so you do not blow things up.

Have a look at the hextronic 120amp, i have one and it was fairly easy to watercool and then coat in DP270

TBH id go for a 9xl or 10xl - the 8xl is a hot we motor with a lot of rpm per volt and limits you to smaller props if you want to avoid cooking things.

for lipos.

id go 4s2p - something like the rhino 25 c 2350mah

Parrallel these and you wont be breaking the bank, I use the Zippys which are the same cells, and they are only just warm after 4 mins of over 50mph in my scratchbuilt cat with an 8xl - given the choice again i would go to an 9xl

Thanks guys. One last question.
With those ESC's do I need to change my radio and receiver.
I have pistol grip radios for my rc trucks and other boats.
Thanks again

I use JR/DX3 Pistol with Sentilon no probs. Can't say for Hextronic, haven't used one.

Assuming I have my running hardware setup correctly what type of speed do you think i should see with this mono-hull?

Well we tried a 2700kv motor I think, in a Kyosho Bluestreak 800, and we got a bouncing, hopping boat that I would say went around 80km/h. Too fast and near uncontrollable, but made us laugh. That was using 2 NiMh sticks too.
