Looking for a new project. Wondering if this is a worthy hull?

that motor would push it just fine. but 55 mph might be out of the question for that motor

The DF33 is an excellent hull and will easily achieve 50+ mph on 4S. An excellent thread with multi builds for the DF33 is here:

All the best,

8S in a DF 33 would be insanely fast and hard to keep on the water. Properly set up and depending on the motor a DF33 should easily run into the 50's on 4S. My 32 inch DF CyberStorm ran dead on 50 with a Nemesis 10XL running 4S. The same type of hull (DF 32-inch Cyber Storm - a very close cousin of the DF33) ran over 80 on 6S at the recent LA FE SAWS event.

It depends far more on the motor and ESC that you choose than the hull itself. I would absolutely plan on running it on 4S and then make your go fast decision based on the motor and ESC.

Thanks Silent. You have brought up another question for me? What is the difference between the Cyber and the regular DF33? Is it just length and width?

The DF Cyber has a much deeper vee than the DF33 hull. There is a slight difference in dims too. The Cyber measures 32.25" x 9.25" and the DF33 comes in at 33.25" x 10.25". So about an inch in length and width.

Read the link to the DF33 thread posted by Ray. Good information in there. I have a DF Cyber that hopefully should be here soon. I am planning of running an outrunner for this hull on 5s.
