There is no way that that boat will go 30 mph and last 35 minutes on a 1800 nicd battery
Is it a good buy ??
If you have nothing now it will be something to start with but you will want something better after the first run

Hi Unknown25,
I have noticed that every boat that comes from China is exaggerated as far as speed & runtime goes. Each time I see a boat from China with a claimed “MPH†& runtime, I automatically divide the claimed speed by 2 to get a closer measurement of what the boat actually does. Even at that, after dividing by 2 will only get you to the “high end†of the stated performance on a fully charged pack.

I have to agree no way the boat goes that fast. But if you are looking for a first boat why not just go down to your local hobby shop and get one that is easy to learn on.

Well thats not true! Yes, alot of stuff from China is junk, but then you do have stuff from china that is not junk! Take a look at this fiber glass boat, swap the prop with a octura X440/3 and your good to go! Check out the vid, it's ARPRO P1 brushless mono that has everything for $199 + $14(shipping) $213.00 stock is wicked good price for this boat. Check it on ebay! That low KV motor with 3cell lipo is begging for a bigger prop!!!! Check out his video!

Just an option for someone on a budget!

No way on earth that will go 30..................probably about 12mph with 10 minutes run time. Its a decent hull shape, i'd go with a brushless 4600-5700 castle and 11.1v Lipo, that should do the trick. I personally like taking the "toy type" boats and crammin power into 'em.

I agree with dumas hot shot and instead of getting that banana hobby boat go to www.rctoys4less.com and get the arpro boat

Unknown25,
Take a look at the engineering and construcution of the boat you are looking at and compair it to the one linked in buggyman144's posting above or linked here [link]http://www.1wholesaler.com/wholesale-Products/Default.aspx?ProductID=193[/link] and you will see a huge difference. eboat is right on the mark. No offence intended but there is Toy grade and Hobby grade boats; you will be able to see the differce in what I mean when you compir the above. If you are looking for a quick spin around out in front of the beach, buy it. If you are looking to get into the hobby and plan to be around for a while do some more research and spend your money where it will count.

What!
Lets not put this guy into a $300 toy.. Those are junk!
For about 250 bucks he could get a SV27, or better yet alittle more and he could have a UL-1 !

Not all boats from China is junk. Checkout the 25" Prince (http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7713767/tm.htm). It gave some top dollar boats a good run for their money.
The 25" prince is definitely a hobby grade boat and the bottom is very much a Delta Force. The Delta Force boats are doing very well in Europe.

Speed has a price. The bigger the size of the boat, the bigger the motor and bigger the battery that need to go with it (and so is the total cost).
Try out the MiniRio, Mini V, or ReefRacer2, swap in a small BL motor and a 1300 to 1500mah 3S Lipo, you have the run for the $.
(yes, a X427 prop will help).
