You can import the PDF file into Corel, then select all and enlarge by % of your choice. Look for a 100% somewhere near the top of the page, and adjust that to the needed %. Mine is adjusted to 166%, you'll need probably around 200% for the size you want.

I am thinking of making a mould from the wooden cat. Time will tell...

Hey Colossus, I just PM'd you.
Neil, let me think how to solve the size issue with the PDF file. I'll get back to you.

About fiberglassing, yes and no.
One could foberglass both sides of the balsa before cutting out the bulkheads. Then cut the bulks after it's dry, and glue them together.
Another aproach would be to not use balsa at all and go with multi layer ply instead. lot stronger, bit heavier as well.

I began installing the hardware, both motors inside.
Still have to do a lot of things with the drive line. I need to make new shafts, couplers etc. I need to shring the ESCs. I need batetry holders and so on.... Lot of work very little time. I want to make the boat RTR by Sept 10.

are there any modifications to the boat that you have made or is it built right of plan, only the running gear is a personal choice  ?

Running gear is a personal choice. You can either use cheap chinese stuff or the swiss ultra pricey precision stuff.
I didn't alter the plans too much. I had to design some extra parts. Some of those are on the plans. Some aren't as I haven't drawn them on the computer as well.

Yes, I switched to using Turnigy 180A ESCs and the boat is slowly nearing it's completion. I'm machining prop shaft couplers and so on. Will post pics later.

I finished machining / welding the prop-shafts and I'm going to solder the flex cables inside the other end of the couplers. My soldering iron broke, so I'm halted now...

yes Martin, I'm also very eager to see it on the water. Weather is too cold now. I don't have a resque wessel at hand.
On the other hand, th eboat is still not ready. Some minor things are yet to be done.

Finally it had it's first test run!
Graupner 47mm carbon reinfoced nylon props used. I wanted to be gentle on the motor/ESC for the first time.
I was afraid to pull full throttle, i need to get used to the boat first.
GPS measured 85km/h

and excuse me for the bad quality vid...

The two new props, ~90% sharpened and balanced.
I was about to try them today, but weather conditions weren't good. Too strong wind. I hope I can try them very soon!

That is a very nice boat. Just a question, how did you make the strakes?

The strakes are made out of rectangle cross section pine stipes.
I used a sanding machine to sand off the excess wood resulting in a triangle cross section.
I finished them by hand, sanding it so that it tapers at the front of the boat.

I had the chance to run the boat with the octuras. Top speed (GPS measured) was 104km/h.
