RE: were are the big cats
Twin motors LMT 3080's = $1600
Twin Speed controllers, Schultze 40/160= $1400
Each motor and controller combo running off of 2S2P LiPos 25C, 18.5V (5S) 5000Mah capacity, 8 batteries in total=$2000
A couple of chargers=$500
It can be done if your wallet is deep enough.
I have a RIO 51 converted to electric, running off the same set up I listed above, only a single motor.

67" cat on electric . Go for it.
This will not be a low cost exercise.
It was mentioned above that RumRunnerRacing is the forum to go to for powering a large cat. That is true
OSE, Offshoreelectrices, is another place that may provide some help.
There is always a mandatory clause if you are going to power a big cat. Pics are a must and vids are often appreciated.
Go the big Cats. !! I'll stay with my smaller ones, for now.

Ok, a couple of things, your boat runs what, 60+mph with the gas? Why do you want to go electric? More speed? Have you seen what GRP hull do when flipped at 70, 80, or 90 mph. Messy!
If you want just a really fast cat I would say get a smaller, stronger hull then push it fast. Look at the HPR 06 or BK's they both have carbon and carbon Kevlar hulls available.
But, if you are sure you want to repower yours. A few things you should consider, the boat must be 100% water tight, Big fast electrics have a learning curve if you don't speak lipo. Also you should consider an inlay of carbon, at the least 1 layer of 5.9oz I would say 2, and run it as far forward as possible. Don't worry about the weight, you want to survive the first blowoff. These electrics today have more than enough power to compensate for the added structure. The guys running the 92" electric cats are pushing 80lbs and 100mph.
IMO

RE: were are the big cats
thanks for that last reply and yes it was for more speed.
I think it will just stay as a gaser for now and I just wish I had the money for a HPR 06 its the post to here that makes me say no way.
Thanks to all that gave a look in to this.

RE: were are the big cats
I just bought a carbon kevlar 06 form HPR and the shipping was around $60. US But the total was right at $600 so the shipping didn't seem like that much;-)
