take a look at this video: http://www.storacingproducts.com/dra...brushless.html This is a EKOS without esc's, batt's and radio. Video is boat running with non counter metal props, 5S... It's humming and those are 380 motors, 2450KV...

You don't need to break the bank to break 60mph.

That thing is movin!
I thnk it's on 4s

Those props are clearly CR props.

Actually I Typo'ed the 5S and it was 3S.

The props on the boat in the gallery are plastic 3 blade counter rot. props. In the video at 0:48 seconds pause it and you will see he is using a pair of Aluminum or stainless 2 blade props turning in the same direction. If they didn't turn in the same direction the one prop would just cavitate at speed since its a cleaver blade prop.

I have the pic, i just don't get how to post pics on here???

Some motors I mentioned Serge:

UL-1 2030KV 6pole.... http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=dh-aqug7001

ARC 3655 - 1 2800KV 4 pole... http://www.lightflightrc.com/HTML/products/ARC-36mm.htm

I have a Hobby City 6XL 2800 KV motor... was thinking maybe 2 of the but, you said you think its too heavy for this hull??? I don't know... maybe ??

I would like to try the ARC motors, look nice... See RC Groups for test data... in Planes section.

I also had my eye on those ARC motors. If I get a chance and they are fairly decent, I may run those in my planes instead of MEGA.

i have hit 60mph + with one of these, single 6xl on 4s modded x447/3. acouple of ammo 2300-2600s or ul-1 motors should see you very close as they will take a slightly larger prop when run in pairs

Sounds like it.. a 6XL on 4s with a 447 prop will pull lots of amps...

Hey Serge,

WE need to get our boats done and post some videos. The EKOS is getting allot of chatter so it would be nice to see one with proper sponsons running.

Thanks for the extra pictures and info on vaccum bagging etc... Really cool! I have some pre-cut balsa that is very close to the 14 or 15 degrees angle you cut on your table saw. I'll use that with some fiberglass like you did... might try to VAC Bag it too... I could use some hints on that stuff.

I know for a fact that boat in the link wont do 50mph, or anywhere near it when you get it. Obviously it has some aftermarket props- they are not counter rotating, which is interesting as that thing must prop walk like crazy. The video says its running on 4S batteries, but they have 3S 5400mah in the boat in the video. My EKOS runs 47mph on 3S with x442 props, stock 2850kv motors and 60amp escs

They are less than Feigao, in quality and price.

I bought 2 of the motor mounts though. Nice build, keep on going. I'm still trying to find someone to cut the woodf for me...[]
