Dying to ask this question..
If your running two motors do you need two ECS controllers?
Or, can you run both motors through one ecs?
Regards,
Moppie..

Don't worry, he can. That extra profile on the sponsons should help keep it stable at higher speeds. He's just getting his sponsons wet.

In your build was there a desired distance that you want the drive strut to extend away from the boat hull, other than just having the prop clearing the hull?

Hi Rull:
I have to say I’m impressed with the overall quality of your build. Well done !
Having played in the mono (32”) range I’d like to ask the question, what would you do different?
Different motors...Different LiPo... Change the rudder… Cooling concept… Hull modifications…?
Any last build suggestions and thoughts appreciated.
Moppie.

Hi Moppie!
The distance between prop and hull should be 2...2.5 times of props diameter.
If shorter - the prop will work in a unstable water trough, if longer - the hull will going to dolphining.
So choose proper stinger length including washers and drivedog.

RE: 32' cat twin powered
Hi!
I see my mistakes now.
First of all, it was necessary to cut a new hull in half ( top and bottom) and strengthened them within the carbon. The hull is very weak. I can not do that now.
Next, I have strengthened the entrance of hull with carbon sticks inside hull. The entrance of hull should not bounce. The cowl was opened because of it.
The front of the boat, I filled with a foam. It damps the shocks and gives extra strength.
I`v made new more secure locks from the front cover. I`m thinking about idea of secure rear cowl-locks.
I`v bought new motors Aqua-Craft. It is powerful motors with a metal stator and 6 poles. Did not tested yet but promises are good.
Batteries - 5S is too tightly in the hull. May be smaller capacity like 3500 - or 4000 mAH. But I have not too much money to have different batteries for different boats.
Don`t place the batteries on the bridge. It is too heavy for weak hull.
Further will know more.

Rull,
Appreciate your comments..The reason I asked was I ordered the same hull and wanted to learn from this community, you. Thanks again.. It was interesting to read your comment about the strength of the hull. I don’t think enough people realize the stress and impact a hull takes at 100kph (60 mph) let alone 120 to 130 kph with the weight of the internal hardware.
The goal of my build is a “power-train stable” , i.e, not cooking the batteries, motor and ecs around 115 kpm (70 mph) boat and I think a Cat hull is the best configuration.
Anyway, I think you are really close.

Hi, I've been trying to bend the sponson wood (pine) wege like you have done in the early stages. I just can't get the pine to bend like you did.
I tried boiling in water, and I still can't get that tight bend where there are relieve spaces. What is the trick? Douglas Fir?

I believe they are a red can Feigao copy he got for $25 or so... Early on like page 1 or 2 he shows how he did some mods. They still got too hot and demagnetized somewhat... I think he was going to try a pair of UL-1 motors next but, he hasn't posted in some time.
