Scale rc outboard engine covers
I was just wondering if there is anyone who produces scale looking lexan outboard engine covers ? I just purchased a vacuum former and was wondering if anybody besides myself was interested in something like this ? I was thinking along the lines of the new and old style Mercury covers as well as OMC style covers . I'd love to hear some feedback .

my first thought is to make replacement parts for amps outboards. depending on what lexan can hold up to (heat, nitro, etc). next thought is if the former is big enough then you can do hulls. if not you could do engine scoops and accessories.

I would be very intrested in these, especialy the old & new Merc's. You could make these to fit the K&B's of all sizes & the OS & FE's as well. Sign me up!

start of with making blanks of what you want to produce out of wood, that way you can let your imagination run wild
dont think making hulls out of lexan is going to be strong enough unless the materials about 6mm thick

I think a few guys on the AMPS forum already seem to have the replacement parts on the way, they have quite a bit of orignal tooling already. Starting with a new, current engine cover would be a step beyond AMPS covers.

i think that if you were to make engine cowls for te k&b s and set the os engines you would have no problem selling them i have been toying with making a couple for my engines k&b 7.5 and 11 cc to make my hull look scale if you buld them they will sell ias far as lexan holding up to heat and nitro all yhe car bodies are made out of it

RE: Scale rc outboard engine covers
I still would need exact measuments or be able to purchase a couple of covers to be exact replicas of the AMPs ones . If not they might be slightly different . If this is no big deal then cool .Any idea on where to purchase these bits ?
