what glue to use for foam and balsa
i have a H shape rescue boat i'm building and am wondering what to use to glue balsa wood to the foam, was thinking of using wood glue (PVA glue) did try CA (super glue) but it ate away at the foam, what should i use ???

Epoxy would be best in my opinion. Have you considered Bondo? Many around here use Bondo as an adhesive and it works perfectly! Hardens quickly and is waterproof. Not to mention it would not eat your foam. I use it when I secure gas tanks to the hull. Use it almost exclusively when I'm building plugs around the foam areas. Try it, you will be surprised!

The best I've used for this combination is PU glue (polyurethane). It will also expand a bit, like the pu foam, but a lot less, allowing to fill gaps. Some versions will harden in 15-20 minutes and can be cut flush with a cutter.

thanks fella's, i know what bondo is but i don't think they sell it under that name in the UK

I agree with Cornelp, I used PU glue on my tunnel, and I love it! Look for UHU PU MAX, it's not fast but very strong when cured.

This is the one I use, but they do not have too many dealers across Europe... Their epoxies are also first class. Norbique, you should be able to find it locally...

im going to use 30 minute epoxy, just waiting for my balsa wood to turn up so i can start sticking it together, all hardware and electrics are sorted and ready to go in once completed
