1/8 hydro with brushless?
Hi.
I have a 1/8 Dumas Miss Circus Circus and want to electrify it. It weights about 4 Kg without the engine. It was powered by an OPS 90 before I got it.
I will use a 700KV inrunner on 10S 5000 30C lipo.
Is 3000W enough for this boat to get good speed?
What propeller should I use for a setup like this?

RE: 1/8 hydro with brushless?
What 700kv motor will you use? The unloaded RPM on a 700kv motor is a bit low. You will be able to spin a relatively large prop. I would start with a 58-60mm prop and work your way up if you decide to run a 700kv motor.
3000 watts should be decent. You may want to consider running 10s2p to make it more reliable at 80+ amps.

Most people running scale boats run props somewhere between a 457 and 460. Since your boat is on the heavy side, you may want to run a lifting prop of similar size
