Default Airplane motor underwater?

Im making an rc boat with the electric things from my rc plane. I have figured out a couple of different ways to put the motor. But my favorite one is to make an model outboard engine, but with out anything at the bottom. And then i put my airplane motor at the bottom, and a propeller on the shaft. The motor im planning to put on the boat looks like [link=http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5112&Product_Name=Brushless_Outrunner_TowerPro2409-18_1000kv_/_180W]this[/link].

But would this work? Would the motor be able to be underwater without taking any damage?

Default RE: Airplane motor underwater?

The motor will work under water electricaly but the magnets will rust after a short period of time. Even if you blow the water out & spray with WD40 after each run, I think.
