Aquacraft rio ep?
Im wanting to get this boat. I will be driving it on a lake and a few other ponds.
im wondering is it a good boat? I was wanting to mini rio but heres a few reasons why id raher have the rio ep.
It takes standard 1/10 electronics. Which i have multiple motors and escs.
I already have a bunch of batteries i can use with it.
The mini rio wont do well on a big lake.
Now onto the questions.
Can i run a vxl system in it? on 2s?
Can i run 15t or 17t brushed motors in it?
Whats a good cheap upgraded prop?

RE: Aquacraft rio ep?
I have this boat and converted it to brushless. It is a decent hull but it's speeds tend to max out between 25 and 30 due to instability at high speeds. I enjoy running this though and it is much better than the Mini Rio (which I also have).
Personally, I've always wanted to put the VXL system in a boat and see what happens but it might be too much power on 3s and ok at 2s. The only problem with it is there is no good way to watercool the ESC and you'd need a watercooling jacket for the motor.
As for the prop, I've found the stock 40mm prop is actually a pretty good size prop for the boat. I tried up to 47mm props and saw no speed gain due to those stability issues just a hotter motor.
