RE: Norbert's FE Tunnel Build
Hi Guys
How Do You connect the flexcable to the motor? I have an old K&B that I could convert to electric BR Thomas from Finland |

RE: Norbert's FE Tunnel Build
Thanks Ryan,
I had some issues with ESC setup, I reprogrammed it since, and I still think I should change timing from 1 degrees to 7 degrees, the next step the ESC offers. I think the motor should propel this boat better than it is doing now. I'll run the boat again with 7 degrees timing and post another video of it on youtube. |
RE: Norbert's FE Tunnel Build
Hi All, I don't mean to hijack Norbert's thread but just thought I'd show this video of my Fe tunnel running. The conditions were not too good for a tunnel but I think it did OK. The wind was blowing about 20mph form right to left in the video and you can hear it in the audio. I'm mainly putting this here because Norbert's tunnel is built from the same templates I drew up for this boat. So, these 2 boats are about as close to alike as 2 different people can build them. I'm running a UL-1 motor, Seaking 120 esc, OS lower, 438 prop, on 4S. http://www.youtube.com/user/gvilleboy2000

RE: Norbert's FE Tunnel Build
Hey Mike!
Thanks for chiming in! You're always welcome! :) The boat did pretty good considering the size of those waves. Can you tell me what is the max usable watts the UL-1 motor can deliver? Also is that a 2, 4 or a 6 pole motor? I always forget. And yes, without your help my tunnel would imply not exist! I will always owe you for the amount of help you've given me. Thanks! Please let us informed if you make any new videos. Or any other info in general. If you don't mind, I embed your video here (so it's easier to view): |
RE: Norbert's FE Tunnel Build
Only a short video with the leg lowered by 2mm. Boat run much better/faster with the original 38mm prop.
Unfortunately, later (not shown in the video) I popped the 100A SkyWing ESC with a 40mm prop. Time to buy a better alternative! |
RE: Norbert's FE Tunnel Build
Great performance Norbique! She's looks great on the water.
Now I would like to make one myself :) I have too much projects going on now, but some day some time.. :) |
RE: Norbert's FE Tunnel Build
Thanks for the comments Jan!
I'm still waiting for the 120A (relabeled as Turnigy) Seaking ESC. Should be here by the weekend. I need to lower the leg 1 mm. I raised it up too much the last time. Lot's o' trimming/tuning till it's set up correctly. I'm also thinking of switching to a different motor. I'm looking for a suitable outrunner to experiment with. |
RE: Norbert's FE Tunnel Build
