Default YOUR THOUGHTS ON EXHAUST!

Hi all,
i have fitted this engine thats in the link here
http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl;jsessionid=hh6bMn2QXfzlVX7hgGLN5JZ44hjXkHwSG1 jW32X7LM9XKgJ7jhn1lMQlzDTN6FsF6hTspxqdf48k621k8hcX HH1vhBtSRgtGyrzmThGm7YJM9yKkvPmFk51QhXn22YS2!11971 28995?c=885035&n=1&it=A&id=7545
into a chinese boat and to my suprise it bolted straight in. but came across some minor hurdles.
i had to remove the carb intake funnel and could not fit the wrapped to centre tuned pipe i bought for it because they both hit the cover of the boat.
hence the cover would not close. so i bolted the origanl exhaust to it. now the only real way i will find out if it will run ok is to test it in the water i guess. but what are your thoughts do you think it will restrict the motor to much.?
worse case senario i will have to cut a hole in the lid to make room for the tuned pipe. i have put some pics of the set up and a pic of the two pipes together so you can see the differance in diameter.

Good engine upgrade but think you are going to be leaving a considerable amount of performance on the table running that factory muffler. I would not consider running a wrap to center header the best option either - usually too long to allow proper pipe tuning. Look for a 100 degree or 105 degree header - will likely not fit under the cowl but the performance improvement when running with a real tuned pipe is (for many) worth modifying your cowl a little.

I would not lose too much sleep removing the Velocity stack - it is the first thing I take off any motor I get.

One possible route is to spend the extra cash and put a quickdraw WTC pipe on it should solve the problem of cutting the hatch.

if there is room you could always run the pipe in the sponsen and change to a different header say one of these [link]http://www.whhonline.com/Exhaust_Systems_s/32.htm[/link]
