Hey Kendog,
Dana is building me one of his capsule flatties now, these boats are so cool. I have kicking around purchasing some of these engines I hear good things about them. Since your using the fuel tank in your boat how will the radio box mount? Keep us posted looking forward to your build.

Yeah Dana makes a real nice product, and easy do deal with.I have two hulls, the second one has a light lay up.I,m going to try to hide the radio box behind the tank and tight to the back of the hull.

Hate to say, but I don't think the mock up is going to work. Where you currently have the prop seems that it would just lift the boat out of the water and no forward thrust. I would sujest you try a submerged strut and prop out the rear of the hull, jm2c
No matter, those are killer hulls when set up.
Good Luck with the build.

Painman, thanks for the responce, but the idea is to get it to run like a drag boat.Dana has already tested it out with great sucess.I could be real wrong, but it would not be my first time.[]

RE: TOP FUEL FLATBOTTOM
Ahh! Was waiting to see the bottom, whether it was the flatbottom or the runner version.
Have fun with the build!
Has anybody been able to get on the rc drag boat site lately?

Yeah I still get the homepage, but it seems the forum is now completely gone.
Just get a screen asking if I want to register a site.

RE: TOP FUEL FLATBOTTOM
Kendog I'm going back to the sub-surface set up . It's much easier to figure prop sizes and after the testing I've done on the submerged drive I think the sub-surface is faster .

RE: TOP FUEL FLATBOTTOM
Here lies the problem?Where the weight goes. I,m not building an average boat. Thanks for the input.Edited this so you guys can get where I,m at.A flatbottom should ride on the back 3rd or less of the hull.To make it work right all the weight has to be more to the rear and that is where the cavition plates come in.If I get it right it will turn like a pig,but will be fast in a strait line.
