I saw this on the rcmk website and was wondering if anyone had seen one run or know anything about it????? Looks like a new version of the R254.

New version, no as that's the older one from as far as I can tell as I own 2 of them. That is the R-254. The newer version has the flywheel and pick-up on the rear of the engine by the intake and can use standard motor mounts.
I got a deal on mine from Kevin Sheren as he was getting rid of all of those motors plus a box of parts to go with them.

I'm not sure which one is the newer version but I'm pretty sure this one is the older one. I bought mine already updated with an Easy Start that I'm anxious to try.
One is mounted in my JAE 'rigger but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the other one yet. Thought were to mount it in the new mono that's on its way but I tossed that idea out. It would be cool in a cat hull though.

Yes the RE was the predecessor. The picture is with the new EVO jug. Same thing otherwise. It's downside is rear flywheel and only able to use RCMK mounts specific to the engine.

While it was by design ahead of the most recent RZ-254 rear exhaust rope start engine, the current version of that engine is simply the R254-Evo still retaining belt start status and a PTO end flywheel.
