Central RC Hobbies 73 inch Mystic Build
I got home today and found a big box with my 73 inch Mystic hull from Central RC waiting for me. I got everything opened up and took some photos. I am not an expert compared to some people on here but from what I can see I am very happy with the quality of the hull. This is going to be a somewhat slow build but I will keep this page updated. I'm sure I will have lots of questions along the way.

RE: Central RC Hobbies 73 inch Mystic Build
Thanks guys!
Matt, I am not really sure yet on the hardware. I have been doing some checking and I dont know that I have too many options for new. There is MTC, MH$, and WD200. Perhaps sonic too. I think all of those are good quality, just a matter of finding what will fit right and be functional. I really would like to get the most bang for my buck. Any thoughts?

Oh cool Rick...Now I know why you were talking about the Werner stuff. Would you happen to know the part number of the drives and rudder you used? Thanks.... PS...if your looking to part with your Werner hardware, I might know someone who is interested...lol

Hey Del, here are the links. I need to talk to him when he gets back about a longer rudder blade.

I also ordered a couple rear exhaust RCMK engines last week. One normal direction, one reverse direction with matching clutches. Seems like a good way to go.

I got these today...Props should rotate inward??? For example...if your looking at the back of the boat the prop on the left side should be going clockwise?

Some nice power plants there Del!!
I have heard arguments from both directions Del. Personally I would be rotating the props inward - but this is more how I see things working. [link=http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/general-boating-discussion/54498-question-about-prop-rotation-twin-engine-setups.html]Looking around the net there is plenty of debate (large and small)[/link]
I am sure others will chime in. I think it is more a matter of what makes the most sense to you
For hardware I would consider Danny @ Sonic who has some quality hardware. The exchange rate with Australia is no longer favorable though (was once 2:1 - now it is 1:1). Werners drives are art. You might get what you pay for.... but you still have to pay for what you get.

Hey Del, the Werner rudder is about 2" below the sponson might just be enough without asking for a longer blade. Have you decided on mounts yet?

I just ordered some mounts from MTC and they should be here in a week or so. They look to be of good quality. I think the pricing was $129 for two sets shipped to my door. I have also requested some info from Werner. He did respond to let me know he would work on it as soon as he got back in town. I don't see any reason I couldn't go with a rudder from Werner and drives someplace else.

Does anyone know if 2'' of rudder below the sponsons is enough?

As the prophub inline with your sponsonbottom should be the right setup ,
and being single engines ... using 70mm/2.7" props (thus having 35mm/1.38" propblade in the water ....
your 2" below the sponsons rudder should work fine.
That remark about MTC hardware is almost a severe insult ,
you will NOT find a USA hardware manufacturer that is guaranteed using 7075-T6 aluminium.
As they think that 6062 > 6065 is a airgrade alu ... ha ha ,
yes ... now we know why spaceshuttles are falling out of the sky.

When someone here says something is "Good quality" it is not any kind of insult!

RE: Central RC Hobbies 73 inch Mystic Build
Hey Matt. I needed to order some drives and a rudder. I ordered them from Werner at WD200. I also got some engine mounts from MTC. I figured the down time would be a good time to clean up the seam on the boat. I really am not good at fiberglass work. I got lucky...a friend offered to help me clean up the seam on the boat. The hull should be back next week sometime. This is one sweet looking boat. I am looking forward to the build. I didn't really think about it, but there is not that much I can do on the build until I have most of the parts. I want to be able to figure out the proper CG but can't really do that without everything. When I get the drives and rudder I will get them mounted up and take some photos.
Do you have any boats your working on Matt?
