There is a good friend of mine that builds these motors and really goes through them to make them solid. There are a number of things that he does to them. I cant think of all of them but there are some internal parts that need to be replaced with stronger ones and there is a bearing matter that he fixes as well. He has gone through Four of these motors the two he has now are rock solid the big bore one has had about 15 gallons ran through it and starts on half a pull everytime!! he is on Jims and goes by Boss330 you can pm him and tell him Doug sent ya! His boat is a steady 75 mph boat doesnt even really matter the conditions. Here are some pics of it, it is also on youtube. it is an expresscraft Thunderbolt. He also ran this boat in the offshore rigger twin class and one first place! against riggers. and of course I painted it. Hope this helps good luck with your build.

Also I dont know what hull you plan to use but 70 mph crashes with that much added weight in the standard fiberglass hulls just doesnt cut it. He went througha fiberglass hull inno time.you need to go with carbon fiber and possibly add a bulkhead. the pictures here do not show that but we added one later. Havent had a single problem with it since. Remember longer is better.
