RE: Gmorty flex shaft
the email I have is [email protected] you could also try OZ RCBoat Supplies and ask for help as I am pretty sure they are in the same area. This question popped up recently, Greg is still around. You could also ask Dom (YPC) or take a length measurement and try a few of the leg suppliers. Joe at Zippkits may be of some help, I will keep looking

Ed Mazzola on IW is an autherised HUGHEY shaft dealer, says he can get any size you want. if you can find an engineering place that can square the ends, all you need is a length of good cable(look for the one with the gold strand through it).

Thanks, that email is the same one I have,no reply so far. Thanks for the other options.
I have been trying to find some one, local but no luck so far. Things are sill abit difficult here,
in Christchurch New Zealand after the earthquaks, with companies either closed or moved.
Cheers Again

RE: Gmorty flex shaft
I will see Kris Flynn on sunday at the lake and see if he can help you out as he makes shafts, but has not done any for the gas stuff just nitro. Yes it must be hard for you over there after the what seemed daily quakes you guys had. Have they stopped yet? If you get super stuck and cant get any and cant run your boat, pm me and I will send you mine from my gmorty lower to get you back on the water as I am running my other leg now until the sun comes out and I paint my other hull.
All the best,
Dion.

RE: Gmorty flex shaft
Thanks for your help. I have one shaft left, so ok for now. Just put a k30 on the gmorty, still running in but showing promise!
have a look at my post in gas inboards for the other 2 that im working on.
The shaking keeps on going but getting less all the time. Then you get a bigger one just to remind you who in charge! (its not us)

RE: Gmorty flex shaft
Shane,
I just went down to the shed and checked some cables, and I would go with one of Doms longer shafts as it is only about 1.5mm shorter than the gmorty cable I have. I have a couple of YPC shafts and the one that looks like it is what you need is 171mm long.
Good luck,
Dion.

Write a mail to Tony from WareHouseHobbies ... he can make you any length of squared cable. (USA-quality)
If you want the German Sühner cable with the golden-strand ...
I have a German-buddy that can make you square's @ 5Euro p/sc.
I can arrange to send a one-side squared to him , and let Thomas of [link=http://www.matho-powertrain.de/index_en.html]Matho-engines[/link] do the other side.

RE: Gmorty flex shaft
Jackal, the gmorty shaft is 1.5mm longer than the long 171mm YPC shaft which makes it 172.5mm. There are a couple of YPC shafts available, depending on what collet you use with th lower. You can also get the Lawless shafts direct from Fred, I suppose it depends where you live as to what is most convenient.
The short YPC shaft I have is 160mm.
Cheers,
Dion.

I'll order 2 square [link=http://www.cmbengines.de/index.html?d_FW4KN_Flex_Welle_6_35R2_mit_Vierkant_ normal1409.htm]Sühner-cables at MTL[/link] .. and let Manfred send these to Thomas. .... 11€ a piece and 10€ shipping
Thomas will do 10 squares (as on the cable is one) for 50€ , and ship it to you.
As the cables are 720mm long ... you'll get 3 out of them ... total 6 spares for about 120€ incl. shipping
You can mail in English with Thomas.
